When I read "...paralyzed from the neck down... was able to get within 500 yards of the summit... with the help of a HAL exoskeleton worn by his friend " - No wait, Unwow that one
Only a matter of time before the "HAL 9000" model is released with the slogan "We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error."
Everyday use is fine, but when you develop you start to see plenty of weird glitches, that includes proper garbage collection. Running the final compiled binary is fine, just the developing stage eats up resources like crazy. Tip: sysinternals process explorer is excellent for tracking processes and walking their stacks to find bad threads.
You're right people love bling. Personally I'll kill Aero first thing, I'm starving for stability! I got the RC running great on virtualbox on Ubuntu, so I can confirm, it's less hungry than Vista!
Vista IS awful! Code long enough on any OS and you see it's true colors. The security is a blatant work-around to their early bad designs, developer tools require Admin rights, opening up more holes that equates to the ozone. I'm concerned since 7 is a brushed-up version of Vista.
Well obviously their marketing worked it's magic on some of us. However I'm not falling for it, their OS will always have issues, just like the beaten Microsoft child, I'll be wary and cautious for any undeserved strikes.
From the start Microsoft jumped the gun to get into the market, at any cost, including early releases and rushed work. And it's been like that ever since, you're right about poor management. Their #1 priority was cash, not happy computing for the world. Cash. Money talks and B$ walks.
It virtualizes fine on my Ubuntu PC. Developing in Vista is bad, I know the pain you fear. All of it. I'm looking forward to working on 7, compared to Vista, I'm just praying for more stability! There's a 50/50 chance I'll be disappointed. Optimistically.
I also vote Zebra, fast and sturdy. I flash and program for the TLP2844 and related models regularly. Argox and Datamax are okay but have hiccups with those on occasion, they're still good if you know how to treat them.
The shipping company's the one with less expenses, they benefit. But if we can melt the caps enough, everyone can benefit! Grab a surfboard dude! Totally!
For interests sake, here are some photos of one of our smaller coastal cities - Note all the wild animals. We have a very healthy human/nature relationship
I always get depressed when I hear how, in the US, you get high speed internet WITH your cable-TV. That is unheard of here in South Africa, and an untapped market at that!
Late means the apology didn't come from the original offenders either. justice denied.
It is pretty amazing! I just meant the way it was written gives the wrong initial impression ;)
mod up! bwhahaha! - oh wait, is that a zombie-thriller, not a family comedy? I'd buy your novel! Autonomous Zombie Apocalypse!

I know my brain also bled. It's funny how they framed the "exclusive" preview inside an iPhone!
In that case they could be crafted into excellent honeypots against the mysterious laptop donors
Were you also responsible for #DEFINE RND_BSOD = 1 ?

Good point, and some of us also have metal through those parts. Rule out unhealthy health concerns.
Thanks for the links, very informative reads :)

The programmers should have used HASH(Firstname + Surname) for the key instead, at least make The Daily WTF!
idclip would just cause headaches, unfortunately

I don't need to rail, the FSM and IPU give me all the love and understanding I need.
