    Clearly he did send the message, which is why he could not be exonerated from the crime that he was accused of... However proving intent was always going to be an uphill battle given how indiscriminately wide his message went.

    How do you know somebody else didn't take his phone when he wasn't looking and send the message "from" him?

    1. Get a pet dog - people are always happier with this on average and the buzz doesn't wear off.

    The average person may be happier with a dog but the rest are like me: allergic to dogs and hate walking them and cleaning up after them.

    Programming involves writing code for the computer so it understands what the human wants. Technical writing involves writing prose for people so they understand how the computer works. (Yes, this is an oversimplification.)

    Coming straight out of full-time education, I don't believe anyone has the experience to do that yet. You could be the most talented and enthusiastic person in the world, and perhaps a few years down the line you'd be a great freelancer, but at the start of your career you don't even know what you're missing yet. [...] That's difficult even for someone who knows roughly what they're missing, and I suspect it's impossible for someone who doesn't.

    I have been a freelancer since high school and it worked out just fine for me. A lot depends on one's ability to be aware of--and adapt to--changing environments and clients' needs.
