It a teacher is going to phone it in what does that tell the class? Why should a student even bother to write a paper? Maybe students should have auto-generation software.

For all of the things we screw up in the US one thing we've done (mostly) right is college education. People travel from all over the world to go to school in the US.

I'd love to see a team win this, but they need to have permission to launch reserved by December. None of these teams has a rocket built/purchased.

    Tall order.

If UMaple were making or selling car parts they would be OK. Autozone or NAPA sell parts not manufactured by the car maker. Instead of donations they can outright sell parts that service or enhance a car built by a 3rd party. They would be a similar relationship to the customer - they are offering an alternative to using factory part (or server in this case). Or perhaps UMaple decided to operate a towing/repair service - now they are actually servicing the car build by a 3rd party and soliciting even more money from the customer of a 3rd party car manufacturer.

The new commercial space carriers show great promise, but NASA shouldn't have just dropped the ball leaving a 5-10 year window where the US has no manned launch capability. Most businesses understand when you retire a platform you have it's replacement ready.

"Now will saying 'yes' get you in trouble at times? Will saying 'yes' lead you to doing some foolish things? Yes it will. But don't be afraid to be a fool. Remember, you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying 'yes' begins things. Saying 'yes' is how things grow. Saying 'yes' leads to knowledge. 'Yes' is for young people. So for as long as you have the strength to, say 'yes'."
