In what sense is a Docker container thicker than a VM? I always thought it was thinner/lighter - e.g. A host can allocate varying amounts of memory to a container (with optional limits). Whereas running a VM will always put you back that much memory on its host.
"Highway speeds" is when you'd most want a low center-of-mass in terms of improving driving quality. If you're going to increase it for highway speeds, maybe just make it higher, always.

I was not passing any moral judgements regarding the externalized costs of fossil fuels - I personally think it's wrong coal power plants are allowed to do that. But I also think that our money, here and now, is better spent on wind and solar tech than on nuclear (0.5B failures like Solyndra notwithstanding). A time may come when the bang-for-buck shifts the other way, but it's not now.

To my pro-nuclear friends: This is as clear evidence as you're gonna get why nuclear power is not taking off. It's not nut-job environmentalists, it's not NIMBY, it's not some grand conspiracy. Nuclear is just too freaking expensive to operate with any semblance of reasonable safety.

Can someone tell me how the newer versions of Rails/Ruby compare against the newer versions of Grails/Groovy?

It seems a secondary problem using SuperFetch, is that the HDD is woken up, or prevented from spinning-down when it otherwise could have been. ie. Bad notebook/netbook battery life.

Why not? Eventually those kids will enter the workforce and be supporting your Social Sec/Medicare. Or if you're rich enough to have your investments/401K etc support you fully, it's still the new workforce that keeps the economy running that makes sure your investments don't drop to $0.
