    Disturbed "The Sickness" is on RoadRunner, IIRC. If I gave a rats ass about napster then I never would've heard the best new album i've listened to in months. I buy/buy/bi-cott a band when i don't like em anymore.

    I once dated a girl that I hooked up with because she liked anime. We rented a movie with subs (I can't remember the movie, but the sex was good- us I mean, not the flick). I dumped her cuz she was too stupid to read and watch at the same time.

    When our favorite place to slam each other and start nasty flame wars (and have decent, intelligent debates, too) is in jeopardy of being silenced by a corporate bully, it's great to see all of us put our opinions aside and stand in support of one another.
    I don't remember where I saw this, but it is very relevant here: "I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it." (or something very much like that).

    "...And FreeBSD has been allowing users to execute one command (make update) and the system goes out, gets the code necessary to bring the latest and greatest in to compile for many, many years... Did this long b4 any Linux system thought it would be a good thing to do.
    That is one reason why I decided to check out FreeBSD. That and the Linux binaries compatability option (though I hardly need it because all the little proggies I use(d) under Linux are already a /port )

    Uh, yeah. The Tivo gets it's tv show line up updates by dialing in to a toll free number. so if your favorite show thatt you record gets pre-empted by a burt reynolds toupe-a-thon and Tivo doesnt get the updated info, guess what you get to watch?

    Check out their website, they go in to good detail about what software they used, what techniques and what hardware they used for movies such as Twister, American Pie, Stir of Echoes, Dr Doolittle, etc. http://www.bftr.com Lots of eye candy, too.

    as a recent born-again slacker (the last time I used it was, i think late 2's early 3's-i strayed from the true path and have repented) i found rpm2tgz came in real handy in converting some of my rpm's of my favorite proggys on other CDs so i could use em. rpm2tgz and installpkg rule!

    At least this is how I got mine for my SuSE 6.2 system.. Get a hold of a RH GPL CD. The Navigator and netscape-common files are there along with the communicator files. I am running Nav 4.61 NO COMMUNICATOR this way. Anybody want to moderate this up as "usefull"? Greg

    Sometimes the PHB's feel better knowing that there is commercial support for that 'free OS' (or the othe 'free OS'). It's easier to convince them to try it knowing that a company the PHB is familiar with from the Windows world is also working in the *BSD *nix world... If a product of quality is available for free, I'll use it (the gimp). If a product is commercially available and I KNOW it is good from my experience with it in the Windowsland, I'd be more apt to be willing to pay to use it (Opera browser).
