The problem of artificial intelligence is not one of processing power. Even given infinite speed we have no clue how to begin emulating the function of the human brain.
I'm assuming that by "real AI" you mean a self aware computer program.
The first time I read the Silmarillion I started at the end and worked my way back to the beginning. It helped me a lot to start with the story I already knew and then add to that.
most people who call themselves libertarians are just selfish asshats
Everyone is a selfish asshat. Most libertarians are just honest about their asshattery. Who would you prefer? An honest, or a dishonest, selfish asshat?

Just have to point out here that Apple basically stole the Macintosh from Xerox.

I don't think that word means what you think it means...
–adjective, superl. of good with better as compar. 1. of the highest quality, excellence, or standing: the best work; the best students. 2. most advantageous, suitable, or desirable: the best way.
You used the phrase "good enough." In fact there is a different word that means what you are saying: adequate.
Yes, Windows is adequate for most home users. This does not mean it is best for those users.
Daily Caller finds a couple of obscure liberal bloggers
Do you mean "a couple of obscure Democratic bloggers?"
Because by contrasting "Republican" and "Liberal" you make it look like you are implying that Republicans are, in any way, conservative. This is bad for your image of credibility among thinking individuals.
I'd just like to point out that without the government's help the RIAA couldn't exist. If copyright regulation were not being grossly warped by the government then there would be no way that the RIAA could wield the power that it does. This isn't an issue of a free market run amuck, rather it's a perfect example of a badly regulated market favoring the establishment and being unable to change with the rest of the world.
In an actual free market all it would take is consumers voting with their wallets to change the market.
I don't need any credentials to point out this professor has misinterpreted the article he has read and is now making a fool of himself with his useless rant.
Not gonna lie... The unintentional irony really did make me laugh uncontrollably.:-)
Firefox has *always* had that ability... it was the lack of it in Chrome that was keeping a lot of people, such as myself, from seriously considering it as an alternative browser.
if you have to download half a dozen different pieces and go through 15-20 minutes of work to get everything working...
This is ridiculous. No matter how many separate sections you come up with a halfway decent cracker will be able to put it all in a single rar and write a script to do whatever installation chores need to be done in a few minutes.
What exactly about having multiple parts of a game makes it harder to do this?
Someone who has $30 to spend on music will spend $30 on music no matter how many albums they do or don't download, those downloads do not represent lost sales.
On the other hand, if our hypothetical person decides to support an indy band (that they found through file-sharing), then that $15 that is spent on a non RIAA artist represents a definite lost sale.
Altruism doesn't exist. They lose nothing and gain goodwill.
Expressing an opinion about someone is neither slander nor libel, no matter how uncomplimentary.

I'm not trolling or trying to be snarky, but I think you are confusing ethics and morals.

The themes of the book are lost in translation.
And in place of them we get... environmentalism as the main theme. :-\
Honestly, If you think Tom doesn't belong, that's fine. But you're missing a whole depth to the story by thinking that.

Funny that people keep confusing Agnosticism with Atheism.
Look them up.
Bald isn't a hair color, but it is a hair style.
Atheism is a type of religious belief just like pantheism, deism, theism, polytheism etc.
He said "You also never look down a sight with both eyes" which is completely different than saying "you never use both eyes while aiming."
His solution, to show the crosshair to the dominant eye only, would emulate the behavior that you describe.
Well said.
I don't think anyone gets it... *i* laughed :-)

Differences in compilers? I'm also curious.
The only way virii would be correct is if virus was a masculine second declension term which it is not.
Sadly also true of penii :-(

tedious AND annoying, eh?

It's very simple.
