    You're forgetting Safari which is also not based on Chromium. Web devs are not going to ignore iOS / macOS users. This situation is nothing like the days of IE6. The Chromium source is there and if Google start fucking about, it can be forked. You couldn't do that with IE6.

    IE6 was closed source, controlled by one company and was allowed to stagnate for 5 years. How is that in any way similar to the current situation?

    I can't speak for this one but in Xamarin you have common code (which tends to be most of it) and platform specific code. It pulls them together at build time and generates an installable package.

    I'm not sure how trying to build two identical apps in two different languages and trying to keep the codebases in line is easier.

    Or it could just be that that person likes the taste of meat but not the harming of animals and don't actually have any interest in what other people do. People who don't eat meat don't force anything on you, I really don't understand these tantrums from meat eaters about us.
