    There was no country called Israel for 1900 years either. The last long-term ruler of the area was the Ottoman Empire so the former citizens of that have a far better claim on the area than a bunch of European refugees.

    And like VB6 it will hang around for a very long time. Even .NET 3.5 will be supported until 2028.

    Nothing at all, it's great and is what Android should be. Unfortunately you can't buy a phone from a major manufacturer with it installed, you need to do some messing about.

    It's being developed more slowly than .NET Core is as it's far more widely installed and changes that are being made in Core are not necessarily going to be applied to the framework as they might break things. It's not being abandoned but Core is the future.

    Microsoft have rewritten the .NET Framework and made it cross-platform. Do you think that's a bad thing? Should they carry on putting loads of effort into the slower Windows-only version?

    I want my phone to get regular updates for more than 18 months (including new versions of the OS) and to not be spied on by Google. Is there an Android phone like that (LineageOS doesn't count)?

    I never said it would happen in my lifetime. It certainly won't happen with NASA's pitiful budget but the US isn't the only country with money and the others aren't bankrupting themselves with endless wars.

    I heard the same thing growing up in the UK in the 80s but now Sikhs and Hindus are held up by righties as a model of how immigrants should behave unlike those evil Muslamics that want to destroy our culture. No doubt in 20 or 30 years' time someone else will be blamed for our public services being short of money.

    If you mean the Sinclair Spectrum, it was an 8 bit Z80 machine.

    Because then you can avoid situations such as Windows dominating the desktop because rewriting apps is prohibitively expensive. Why do you think Microsoft fought so hard against platform-agnostic middleware?
