    Have you written to AutoDesk asking if they've considered making a Linux compatible suite? They won't make one if no one asks.

    They did, was a AutoCAD r12 for Dos, Windows and Unix. succeded installing it on a debian slink.

    Last AutoCAD version for unix was r13c4 https://www.thefreelibrary.com... in the 1996

    After that one was all Windows and Mac versions only.

    Linux does not even have a decent application for reading emails ... and no: Thunderbird does not cut it.
    I guess I could find a text only email reader that "just works", though.

    Linux have Mutt http://www.mutt.org/ and their motto "All mail clients suck. This one just sucks less."

    I'd be a lot more receptive to AutoCAD, for example, if they put out a Linux version. But why bother?

    They did. I had installed a R12 one on a debian slink long long ago ;D
    AutoCAD Release 13 in 1994 was the last version for MS-DOS, UNIX and Windows 3.11

    uTorrent version 2.2.6 its the last one usable whitout all the bloat the next ones started adding.

    I am still using it, just setup to never update and works like a charm. If something works dont touch it :P

    I miss FidoNet and their echomail areas. The first reply i got was a private message asking politely to reduce the signature, and a more then enough explanation on why was necesary. Every single bit mattered.

    Keepass https://keepass.info/ its what i put first on any new device, you can use your own "cloud" for store and share the database.

  13. On dial-up times i used WWWOFFLE https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... on debian. Was very convenient since had the ability to browse pages offline and when clicked any link not on the cache, saved for later retrieval.

    That and fetchmail + inn for retrieve mails and news, and also fidonet mailer, all on a crontab in the early mornings. In very few minutes connected a day had lots of content to use offline.

    The 2.2.1 version its from 2011, not really that "old". The next versions all crippled it on ADDs whitout adding real features.
