Where can I order things online in Spain? I can't speak Spanish (only recently moved here) and would like to find somewhere to buy certain products and feel kind of stuck not knowing where to go.

I'm even willing to deal with the manuals and peripherals in Spanish.

I hear you. I moved from the US to Spain.. and [censored] [censored] [censored]!!! I had a personal computer, not even top-of-the-line, shipped to me via DHL. It cost me a total of $500 USD for shipping costs, duties (on an OLD system), VAT (on an OLD system) and another 'delivery' charge. On top of that the thing was held for nearly two weeks by customs. I should have bought a brand new system (except then I would have to deal with everything in Spanish and still pay a huge VAT).

I have yet to try and order things from web sites - because I want things in English and that means the US or UK pretty much. I'm scared to - but then maybe that's the point? To keep business local to the EU and member countries.

Nothing else (not counting people I miss) has made me miss the US than that.

The "Sci Fi Friday" demographic. They may have been trying to compete with Sci Fi's lineup. I think a few subscription channels have science fiction shows on Fridays (could be wrong as I don't have any).

It does seem like a terrible time, especially at 7PM my time. The people that may have watched it otherwise who get off of work around 5PM would have to race home to watch it (and I assume do whatever it is other people do when they first get home).

I don't think they are going for the market that actually goes out on Friday nights :)

Offtopic, but to set the record straight, the Republic of Texas was a country. It was created during the fight for independence from Mexico (1835-36). It lasted for about a decade before being annexed as a state of the United States (1845). Invasion threats from Mexico and battles with Native American tribes along with money issues led to the annexation.

Understand that I solely use OpenOffice for my documents when I'm not using vi. I prefer vi over all other types of documenting - it's fast and easy for me. Anyway, the point is - your personal preference doesn't matter. Communicating quickly and effeciently is.

Yes, Microsoft sucks, closed formats suck, etc. The truth of the matter is, you either adapt to what (in this case) your clients use or they don't do business with you. Most businesses that I've worked for tend to opt for the adapt method than the 'go to hell' method.

It has nothing to do 'bending over backward' for everything the customer asks for. It has everything to do with communication and making stupid things like file formats as transparent and unimportant to the client as possible.

If you lose business over something as stupid as a file format, I only assume that business must be booming with the rest of the customers that only deal in your preselected formats.
