"You are bound by your licences?" "Yes." "These people, wanting to use Be and Linux, were refused a refund, as per your licence, were they not?" "Yes." "So you did not honor your licence?" "No, The refund is from the third party. If these people want a refund they should contact the OEM"
Everyone thinks that the company should be seperate. (imho to atleast 4 companies) But I think that the company run by BillGates himself will eventualy kill the other.
So, Bill Gates should give away its shares of MS to the US.
Also they must remove all their patents and copyrights from anything and be forced to use only standard protocols and file formats (without "improving" them).
And another suggestion would be that they must not produce "their version" of other popular products.
This is very good. For BeOS its a must, since the big problem is the lack of software, and there are many GTK+ apps. For GTK+ is a benefit, since it will allow their apps to be used on BeOS too.
Also, since GTK+ is being ported to Win32 and (maybe) OS/2, it will be a new standard, and there wont be more "only for windows, sorry" programs.
SRLA (slashot reader lisence agreement): by reading this message you agree to be my slave. By not reading this message you agree to sell me your whole family for $2. (AND be my slave).

Every living person should pay me. Every existing atom is my property.
While I'm at it, I copyright the words "Hello", "are" and the first 18 letters of the english alphabet. Everybody that wants to use them, must pay me loyalties.
Have i forgot anything? Well, I claim mars to be mine, and also the pacific ocean. (this case reminds me about the man who claimed the moon and sold millions of dollars worth of property)
I do think, that instead of following MS, we need to attack them. We all use the MS compatible standards because everyone else does, and that's why we're losing the internet to them.
They say HTML is now MS thing, we say ok, lets quickly change netscape to fit. But HTML was ours a long time before MS had it.
We cannot afford to lose anything.
I see people say that without Microsoft there would be no Internet! I see people thinking MS invented email! People that tell me that HTML was introduced by IE!
We should not allow non-standard to win. We need to enforce the standard and take our internet back.
Something such as a "warning: non standard page" on every non standrd page should be required by law. same as "This product does not generate HTML but our version of HTML" too.
Standard did not exist for Microsoft to ruin, but for us to use.
Thats really fun to have standarts isnt it? "One computer, one language -except we dont use it at all."
I tell you what, Maybe let MS stop using HTML. They will use MSML which is only viewable with MS apps. IE 5 will use it and HTML, but if a website wants to be viewed with IE6, it will have to be MSML.
It will have "the best lisence they can offer": GPF That means you can use it for free unless it presents a competition to them.
not only that, the new IIS servers will check each file they are transfering to see if its HTML compatable. If it is, it will automaticly make it into MSML, for the users to enjoy it better! (and ofcoyrse the IIS server 7 times faster)
Next thing to do, is to create a new language for people, "MS-english" and they will talk in that only. It wil be slower and sometimes people die when using it and have to reboot themselves.
Go Microsoft! Make our lives easier by making new and improved standrats!!!
Yeah, you're right, But (I think) some of my quote have been used in court by the MS lawyers. (Some for "free advertisement" in media covered court)
Is there a class-action suit for false advertising?
And as for an injury, Yes I did. I believed them, and used Windows (Better than ever) as many people did. I have suffered from it's instability, and it corrupted/deleted some of my important files and documents.
It also suffers when you turn the computer on. Can we sue MS for not allowing pepole to use it?
Anyway, It is well known that IE is a resource killer, and i cant imagine a machine running SLOWER because it doesnt use it.
If we're going to use purgery as a case, we might as well quote: "Shutting down Microsoft ends innovation" (real quote from their site) "Windows 98 gives astounding results and improved speed and stability" "MSIE is bundled, ehm, integrated because users like to use it"
In fact, the minute Bill and his spin-doctors open their mouth we can sue for purgery.

If we're going to use purgery as a case, we might as well quote: "Shutting down Microsoft ends innovation" (real quote from their site) "Windows 98 gives astounding results and improved speed and stability" - Compared to what? Windows 95? "MSIE is bundled, ehm integrated because users like to use it" - dont you mean forced? "Windows NT offers stability and speed in a low price"
In fact, the minute Bill and his spin-doctors open their mouth we can sue for purgery.
These astronauts, They're really stupid, right? They're the ones who failed school. They couldn't even get jobs at Burger King, So they became astronauts. That makes sense.
And ofcourse, Whats better than Windows for idiots? (A Mac?)
I guess it doesnt matter the stability of these computers, After all its just life support control and Millions of $$$ worth of research. Nobody needs oxygen ALL THE TIME.
So go on astros, play solitaire. I guess that's a better thing to do than "learn how to use UNIX"

Didn't Widndows failed some kind of a test (i think FIPS)? Doesn't it mean that goverment controled computers cant run Windows? NASA is govermental, no?
Anyway - I can still imagine the movie: "Apollo 13 part 2: BSoD": They get GPF when trying to use both the oxygen and temperature control software at the same time. They try to escape but the spaceship wont boot! Too bad they didnt keep these rescue floppies, huh?
The DOJ is trying to prove that Microsoft is killing competition, not that there is not competition.
So, for Microsoft to be guilty, DOJ must prove: 1. There are other products. 2. These products are not used because of the monopoly.
Microsoft did help proving part 1 of this. The 2nd part is proved by the Halooween docs, and many other witnesses. (also by the fact that until the testimony, only geeks knew about KDE, etc)
But - by proving the 1st part, I think that they're just shooting their leg.
Unless -- they know KDE is alpha. thus by advertising it, people will use it, and say "word is better". When the final version arrives, they wont use it because "word is better"
And if you don't like Windowmaker, try afterstaep, and if you dont like that there is KWM, and FVWM, and enlightment. They're all good and nice.
Also I havnt seen a way to use graphic apps on another machine another way. (PC-Anywhere?)
I havnt seen the BeOS GUI, but if it's as good as you say, there will be window managers to look similar to it. God knows there are imitations of Win95, and its really ugly.
1. Well, when the first 586 introduced, everybody said that it wont catch because an 486 is fast enough for home use. Today most software require 586, games require PII sometimes.
2. MS will, dont worry, its their cash, you know.
4. I think I do. Microsoft liscence will enable you to use CPUs which you have paid for. that is, if you got 2 CPUs, you need to copies, if you bought only one, you will be able to use one CPU only. (per CPU license, its pretty obvious, no?)
5. They will make a feature that burns the CPU, sometimes the entire motherboard if you overclock. Wait! they already did...:-)
I think BeOS is a nice idea, and is an alternative platform to Windows, but for newbies. So if any of you are good coders and are more no-Microsoft advocates than pro-Linux advocates, I think it is a nice idea to port your software to BeOS, specially libraries such as GTK+.
But on the other hand, Be is commercial, so if they want help, they should pay for it, right? After all they do sell it ($70).
I agree with your statement. It will help opensource (and|or) free software.
This will be nice as people will be forced to buy copies for each CPU.
However I cannot understand how will a company enforce a software on a single CPU-ID only.
Not all copies of software are sold with the computer and the CD is burnt with the CPUID somewhere. (They can't Microsoft refund action are in the way to stop it, hopefully they will)
If I decided one one day to buy Wincrash and I have used Linux before (unrational, I know), then how can M$ make me use it on one CPU? they dont know the CPUID and cant burn it on the CDROM after installation!
So I dont see the real use of it (except for our paranoid nightmares, such as internet sites and software that requires you to send your CPUID)
If thats the case, OSS won't be helpful, because you will have to compile the CPUID modules/functions if you want to connect to the internet security sites etc.)
Some products ask you to "register" in order to recieve tech support or some stupid gift. When you fill the form you have some privacy-invading options too.
Nothing new here.
Goverment keeps tracking people and listening to phone calls for years, alot before 1984. (true, its not like in 1984, but its really close)
The thing is,
that the internet death cult of fun was suppose to be a joke.
the cracker's site is suppose to be serious.
isn't it?
"You are bound by your licences?"
"Yes."
"These people, wanting to use Be and Linux, were refused a refund, as per your licence, were they not?"
"Yes."
"So you did not honor your licence?"
"No, The refund is from the third party. If these people want a refund they should contact the OEM"
That's what they said always.
I dont get it.
Why not just Linux?
What differs RedHat Linux from debian or slackware?
It uses the same kernel, and the same (GNU) utilities.
If they deperated the award for "best kernel" and "best utilities" then these would win,
and it would be like every distibution won.
This is nothing but free advertising to Redhat.
("I'm gonna get linux so I better get RedHat because it's the best!")
Everyone thinks that the company should be seperate. (imho to atleast 4 companies)

How the hell are they going to such a thing???
I cannot understand how is that technology going to work at all.
Except for "magic" or "ghosts".
(reprogrammable chips? like EEPROM? doesnt sound logical to me)
Please explain...
This is very good.
:-)
