Technology must progress, otherwise we would still be using muzzleloader muskets. Anything that keeps our servicemen alive and gives them an even greater edge is a good thing.
My question to you is why is it scary? Wars have been an unfortunate reality for quite some time, and they will not be stopping anytime soon. So a "long series of wars" that will last "until at least 2011" isn't so far fetched. Wouldn't you want your country to have the best trained and best equipped fighting force when it hits the fan?
For example, a guide friend of mine would sit outside the North Freeport bank, and open the locked door at the back of the bank. This door is never opened by players, because the lock level on the door is some absurdly high level. Invariably, someone curious would wander into this back "closet" behind the door to have a look around. This is when the guide would close the door, locking the player inside. If the player was a caster, they could just gate out, but a melee-type character was stuck more-or-less forever. The guide would wait for this player to petition after a few minutes, then delete the petition, and/zone away, laughing his ass off at the poor sap caught in the trap.
Wrong, it's pickable at 201 or thereabouts, I've done the same trick. Now stop calling people retards please.
I find myself wondering if you are over the age of 14, since nobody with car, house and wife payments considers themselves "yes men" for depending on their paycheck. You know what? I don't give a rat's ass what my company does. In fact, everytime the.com I work for sues someone I get a little more exicited. The only thing that matters is my option prices....period. Once you get pubic hair you will learn the truth in life. I write open source software in my spare time because I like to give back, but between 9 and 5 the gloves are off--my livelyhood depends on it.
This is a misguided comparison. If I steal an SUV, the dealer can prove loss by showing that the SUV is missing. There is no way to prove loss in this sense. I am not saying that downloading copyrighted music is not illegal, just that your comparison is troll bait at best...
The submitter said he/she was about to lose their freedom of speech, but I am curious if Austrailian law guarantees it (like the US Constitution tries to do)?
This does *not* overload the postal system (I smell a troll), because they will actually collect money. I wouldn't suggest filling them with feces, rotten roadkill, et al -- but sending back the empty envelopes is one small way of giving them the bird. Just dawn a george dubya smirk and enjoy the feeling.
Wrong....this card does NOT interface with the OS, so therefore cannot be used as an ethernet card. It seems they have gotten rid of the flashy plastic cases and are only using the PCI bus for power.
I guess we will find out if they are secure once the algoriths go under the ever-watchful eye of peer review, now won't we. If they were found to be snake oil, it will hurt the NIST's credibility considerably.
IMHO, this is nothing but good for Linux. Because Linux doesn't have a robust enterprise application framework it is missing out on *some* (and increasingly more) of the.com action. Granted there's the Java/JSP/JavaBeans/Corba package, but I think that MS hit the nail on the head with ASP/COM/MTS. The.NET strategy WILL come to fruition and maybe Linux will be there to participate.
The root-CA's must take the time to investigate the applicant to ensure that the certs being issued are for legit uses. This is where I figure the majority of the cost comes from.
i.e. That I am who I say I am, and that my use of the cert is considered legit.
Otherwise virus authors could obtain a cert that claims to be from Microsofl. A user who isn't paying attention might think it says Microsoft and accept the malicious code. Correct me if I am wrong...
That'll teach 'em. I bet they are scrambling to find and fire the idiot who put that up there. While your at it, tell them to get rid of those clouds already...
This is not as big of an issue as you would like to make it out to be. You are being neither rational, nor helpful to the OSS cause. The only OEMs that would even consider the "Naked PC" page as helpful are ones who would only offer M$ products in the first place.
Choose your battles, young jedi.

I think I smell a troll, but I will retort nonetheless...
We need to support them because the RIAA is trying to ban the sharing of files with a certain 3-digit extension. Period. There is no "we really know" qualification. Furthermore, the reason we are "painted" as theives and hackers is because society as a whole does not understand our culture. Boycotting Napster does not fix that, either.

Somebody please explain to me why this is moderated as 5, Interesting. If nothing else it is Funny or Troll...

Can you imaging how loud a room full of coders screaming commands at their computers might be?
"Insert breakpoint!"
"Step!"
"Step!"
"Inspect variable foo!"
"Dammit!"

It *would* have been quite clever...
And the fact that this was moderated at 3,Int just underscores his point!
Hey sugar...got any Karma? Ooohhh...just a little, maybe 3 or so. Oh! 5, Funny. I would have never guessed! *bats eyelids*

Did anyone ever find issues with SHA-160?
