"It's more than the amount of time it would take to count every atom in the universe, if you had to wait from the Big Bang until now in between counting each atom"
That... is actually a really great way to communicate just how long that span of time is. That totally blew my mind.
A ton of research has been done on minimum wage and the consensus is that is has negligible effect on employment. Sowell is basically the go to economist on the neocon side, and is a fan of people like Hayek.
The US has by far the highest per capita pollution rates in the world, significantly more so than other developed countries in Europe. China and India have a fraction of the money and wealth we have, and yet are spending huge amounts on solar panels and nuke plants.
Oh god shut the frack up you stupid anarchist 12 year old piece of trash. No, we will not let you drive like a drunken maniac and endanger those around you.
Do you have any idea how many coal plants China is nixing plans on building? Or how many nuclear plants they're building? They're pushing extremely hard for renewables, given their budget is a tenth of ours.
Solar cells from the 70s are still something like 70-80% of their original efficiency. They die slowwwwly. Far more likely in such time is we'll find better materials that are much more efficient to replace them with. 20% conversion today is pretty low. If we could get that up to 30 or 40%, that would enable solar even in cloudy climates.
I'm not sure I understand why Airbnb rents remain so high though. Even if you try to rent out a place for a month it's significantly more than a typical month long rental. Shouldn't competition drive prices down?
No, Metro UI sucks. Tiles are useless. It's ugly. It's cluttered. That's why it failed.

I'm actually looking forward to cheaper Chinese phones with Project Treble. Hopefully they can be continually updated for many years.

Our per capita pollution levels are the highest in the world. Don't be an idiot.
It's breathtaking ignorance that you think you know better than every other developed country and the entire scientific field.

You're a freaking moron. Even Google is giving up on building out fiber to compete, and you think it's not too expensive?
You don't even understand the basic problems inherent to infrastructure markets.

The internet was regulated under Title II until a Republican FCC Commissioner named Kevin Martin deregulated it in 2004.
Are you legitimately too fracking stupid to understand what a global *average* is?
You realize those high tax states subsidize the low tax states...?
Yeah... cause what works in Japan definitely will work in the rest of the world.

Natural gas is cheaper than coal.

Pretty sure it's reached its limits though.
Can you quantitatively demonstrate this supposed harm?
But isn't that because a large proportion of US citizens don't care about what's morally right either?
Your comments in this thread are cracking me up.
Because she chose him despite his obvious personality flaws because he's rich.
No one forced the girl to date him. She's gonna sue the cops for not protecting her from her own bad decisions?

Where'd you see a 110k car with 5000 miles selling for 50k??
