Boy, your quick emotional reaction to defend Perelman is amusing, but completely misguided. If you actually studied up on the field of psychiatry or psychology, you would realize the idea of humans being "social animals" has no exceptions. Those who attempt hermetic lifestyles gradually become mentally unstable and unable to cope with the daily or common changes in our lives that we normally encounter.
You know it's weird. I'm actually in Japan right now, living in a dorm with a lot of Chinese foreign students. One of them told me how his father was actually one of the students at Tiananmen Square, and after the incident burned a book filled with writings of his classmates so that the government wouldn't find it and record his previous affiliations on his resume.
This guy also tells me how shocked he was after he came to Japan and was finally able to see the Tiananmen videos on Youtube (blocked in China of course), and how it's changed his views of his government. According to him, a lot of Chinese youth are extremely nationalistic, and are "brainwashed" by the government. The government hires people to parrot their views of events as if they're normal citizens telling their own personal viewpoints.
He told me he himself used to like his life in China, but now that he's realized the truth about his government, he'd prefer not to go back to China after his study period in Japan is over.
Not entirely on-topic, and mod me down if you must, but I just thought it was interesting how this Chinese guy has become disconnected from his country and his own people, who seem to be influenced so heavily by their government.
Soapbox? It's a legitimate gripe. It's nuts that you have to pay AT&T to use your *paid for* net connection to take the load off their network. They should be paying you.
They've had front-facing cameras and video conferencing technology in Japan for years, but it just never took off like the wireless companies thought it would. Instead, to their complete surprise, texting became the next big thing.
You are one loony loon. Apparently only people who agree with you are true Americans, and those who disagree should leave America so you can have things your way? And you "respect" his "opinion"? Don't make me laugh. You apparently don't understand the concept of a Democracy.
I owe my succes and productivity to working harder than I have to, and spending less than I make. If these things are penalized, I will work only the minimum I can get away with, and die as deep in debt as possible.
I wonder if Google's reputation for fighting the good fight ever plays a part in influencing their court battles. Judges are human beings after all, and while trying to be as impartial as humanly possible is their job, subconsciously some of them may want to reward one of the very few giant corporations out there that doesn't act like a sociopathic criminal.
Fox does not present both sides of the argument "in most cases". You're a tool. If you actually did any amount of legitimate reading on the internet you would know tort reform would save a maximum of $50 billion over 10 years, less than 1% of what we would spend altogether on healthcare.
This just makes me sad. As a society we should be encouraging real human interaction and development. The creators of the internet (strange twist on founders of the Constitution, eh?) certainly didn't intend for it to make socially inept nerds even more pathetic.
If conservatives had a say, there would be a race to the bottom as all insurance companies would rush to base their operations in the state with the laxest tax requirements, and then in order to attract business other states would relax their requirements. Then we would all be screwed. But go ahead, keep being an ignorant fool.
Do you also tell your children not to make use of police or fire services, and make sure not to send them to a public school? Do you really have children? I feel bad for them.
Free speech and your property is paid for by the government by police and fire departments, zoning laws, building inspections, and so on and so forth. You're simply trying to make a distinction between positive rights and negative rights, when in reality there is none.

Allow me to answer this with a complex, well-thought out, rational and legalistic response: No.

I nominate Robert Harrison for the sequel series to MacGyver.

So what's stopping you?

I'm just happy *someone*, *somewhere* had enough moral integrity to defy their corporate-led masters.
It's because Nintendo lowered their minimum quality standards. No idea why though.

This is a very interesting story. Any chance you have a source for it?
Epic win.

Really? The world? Don't underemphasize this friend. This is a sad day for the UNIVERSE. Waaaaaahhh! *Sniffle*

I think The Daily Show and the Huffington Post are far more accurate than right-wing propaganda machines.
No, we are that stupid. 'Nuff said.
By "personal experience" you mean anecdotal evidence apparently.

I'm just curious, what happened to Tom's original Japanese father? Sorry to pry...
Or maybe it's just Google's way of serving the public good while increasing their mindshare among medical professionals?
Well that's no doubt obvious by his huge UID. Sheesh.
