    If you want progress, go for old-fashioned horizontal drag-racing using electrical engines and suitable batteries. This might have an impact on technology advances in a sector that might essentially help save the planet by using different resources.


    Great! So how much extra coal or oil should we burn in power stations to generate the electricity to power these things?

    Conventional forms of electic transport just move the pollution from one place to another..

    Not likely to happen. There's nothing worse than being stuck in a shop queue behind some idiot buying some item for a footling amount of money and paying for it with their credit/debit card. So you have to wait while they go through the whole rigmarole of swiping the card through the maching, waiting for the printout, signing it, etc...
    Yawn!

    Short of having chip implants or barcode tattoos ("And no man may buy or sell save that he have the mark of the beast..") it's just often far, far more convenient to have hard cash on your person.

    Just started getting these in the last two hours, all from 195.x.x.x addresses.
    OK. So I'm running Apache, which shrugs them off, but they're wasting our crap bandwidth and stuffing our web server logs!
    I tried looking at the websites - many of them had some kind of default screen, indicating an unused IIS installed by default/mistake.

    Actually, following some rabid tabloid journalism, many UK stores have withdrawn FS2000 from sale.
    Don't know whether they've also withdrawn Fly II or X-Plane from sale as well. But then again they've not been mentioned in any tabloid newspaper.
    Fucking stupid if you ask me. There's a hell of a lot of difference between flight sims and real flying - while FS2000 is OK for practising stuff like instrument flying, it can't reproduce the actual feel of flying an aircraft, and certainly I make a point of going nowhere near it before a flight.
