_ Chinese are planning multiple mir like station, yes at first they will suck but with big budgets, they could have their sputnik moment _ if aerobreathing engines like the one planned on the skylon are operational, they too could be a game changer. yes it is unmanned but drastically decreases costs _ jaxa is planning a robotic base on the moon... and japanese definitely know their robots _ if multiple changes mid programs don't cause nasa to redevelop the wheel, it will fall behind....
maybe it can stay ahead... and I really hope it will get a big boost but I don't see that happening, especially with cost saving measures in budget... nasa is definitely not a priority
What I would love is all space faring countries to combine efforts and launch some big ass missions and really get the space race going... but because of pride never gonna happen:(
I totally agree with you, lots of great projects Nasa have brought (and are still bringing) awesome science, notably robotic missions... like the mars missions still bringing in useful data or the now extra solar probes. Though I still believe >more cool stuff would come out (I understand you disagree;) if projects were allowed to go through until the end and budgets decisions were more results focused. It is sad to see so many promising yet abandoned projects... including lunar exploration. Today, to go back to the moon (men... and women too;), a lot of the expertise has to be re-developed because no one is around to say how they did things.
I think if Nasa was only allowed to carry projects from start to finish... and not successive radical change in direction mid projects... lots more cool stuff could come out. The problem, every time a new administration comes out big buzz words are introduced to completely change the direction, forcing many times redevelopment of the wheel.

I remember reading something similar with sip over encrypted channel... I guess it is the plague of all compressed communication even if encrypted... the only way to bypass that is use an uncompressed protocol and not blank out the silence. I guess what's new is they've done it with skype.

So how does that minor revision dating work, you have a dating web site? Or, when you have rules, because you do that quicker, it is called speed dating? and the major question is mark zuckerberg involved in this version social network?

Be careful, when HAL reached version 9000, it became sentient... we want to go slowly with the version numbering... that said, I welcome our omniscient linux overlords as long as they don't kick my butt, act nice and kiss it instead:)
of course, there is vb.net implementation by mono project... I hope they survive the new management though it is open source so theoretically it could be picked up at any point
There is already extra space in most phones today. There is a point with phones where they are getting too small; I actually expect the desire for smarter phones bring phone sizes bigger actually
