That way we don't have to need an internets connection to play. Yes, I know Steam provides the ability to disconnect from the net but in order to do so you have to be online in the first place! The game library may be not as huge but Impulse > Steam.

Windows 7 Ultimate is offered at a cheaper price for upgrades. Until then I will stick with trusty old Vista which is pretty darn good now.
