but there are some quite rational excuses for preferring real paper over ebook: printers have much higher resolution than your monitor and you usually get better contrast.
also the fact we can have thousands of books (or mp3s, mkvs..) somehow lowers their value to me. the things that are rare/hard2get usually seem more important. maybe something to do with competition.
no, thats not odd at all. the 'square' signal has infinite number of harmonics. there are no square signals in real life, but those that change rapidly do have a lot of higher frequencies and that takes a lot of bits so they are cut off in mp3. (iirc, everything above 16khz).. something like that
most of newer plasma tvs don't use so much power so they won't generate that much heat.
they are supposed to be blurry like on CRT.
btw, your face will glow in dark from crt radiation:P
nope, buy plasma TV. with highest resolution and smallest size.
if you get a game to run on LCD in 'native' resolution it will probably be terribly 'blocky'
except that it would have to (sometimes) guess your ip address, DNS, gateway, proxy..
I also wish it would save user/pass, yeah lazy..
so, liveUSB is better in my opinion even if somewhat less secure
but, don't packet sniffers grab passwords only on hubs, not the switches that everyone uses nowadays?
besides many use google POP3 server, that should be safe(r)?
sooner or later 'owners' of computer will have to take responsibility for their (in)actions, as networked computers gain more and more control of our lives.
your 'Velma' is same old story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_pigs
and I don't buy it.
If she doesn't know what Happy_Puppy_Pics.scr.exe is then she shouldn't be allowed to execute *any* executable program
besides the one that was installed by administrator/bloke_who_installed_OS.
if she wants to install something new she asks for permission from admin.
after all, to use the old analogy, you shouldn't play with weapons/fire/.. if you don't know to use them properly.
no, of course not. they think that you practically can't pirate World of Warcraft because you're forced to play it on their servers.
also WoW users get to pay *subscription*

aren't those two ports necessary for 'file and print sharing'/SAMBA? the computers at work are almost useless without that.
but USB3 is probably *slower* than eSATA when used with external SATA HDD.. and most of motherboards already have that connector.
but where does it stop? should makers of disassembler software be sued for what their product can do?
so that's what Balmer has been throwing all the time..
and what happens when you are in sudoers list? (I think most Linux home users are, for easy software upgrades and similar)
nope, armed forces exist for civilians, not the other way round
except that it would have to (sometimes) guess your ip address, DNS, gateway, proxy.. I also wish it would save user/pass, yeah lazy.. so, liveUSB is better in my opinion even if somewhat less secure
Kif: Which '80s, sir?
Zapp: For me, there are only one '80s.
I know you're being funny, but maybe it could be used in induction stove
I wouldn't call them false positives.. do you really need those two archives; 4.5PB of zeroes?
(oblig.) well when you buy a house or car, you need to pay more to secure it afterwards..
and on my ZX Spectrum, 'OS' loads in less than 1sec har har

no, in the meantime use eSATA. its way cheaper than firewire and can't be slower. after all the hard disk is (probably) SATA.
actually its not a problem for 90% of windows users (at home) as they always login as administrators.
I saw it from my parents basement

there was an antispam system that used 'revenge' : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Frog unfortunately the project stopped for some reason.

unfortunately not always. so you have to wait to be sure it actually did shut down.
