.. they might fix the old bugs but deliver 'new super bugs' that give real problems.
I had only minor issues with stable. The real problem with it is that some functions are missing.
You have to wait long time to get them. For example, it sticks with old version of openoffice so you cant open docx, or it had old K3B and you couldn't burn multisession.. etc
well there is a reason its called Stable. i have had a lot of problems with Testing so don't use it at work or similar.
my problem with latest update on Testing is amarok not working (in gnome). bah
no, because when I see a ftp link to file I want to click on it and it downloads, that simple.
I dont want to start a ftp client, then decrypt javascript html to enter pass, change dir... for a single file.
damn firefox still doesnt support ACTIVE FTP grrrr
actually there are PPC cards (BlizzardPPC) for 'classic' Amigas. those beasts have two CPUs, and can use them at same time (i think, at least no restart is required). sadly only OS4.0 runs on them.
no, it isn't.
i think that it is in theory possible, by knowing past events and the distance, to know what is happenenig there *right now*. so what if it takes information 495 years to rach us?
NEVER waste time trying to disinfect a machine - reinstall...
that sounds like admitting defeat to me. the only way to fight the viruses is to know the OS and viruses as much as possible.
we need advanced tools, like some super disassemblers and those softice things to help us in examining suspicious *.exe files.
(antivirus programs need to be more interactive so that they are harder to defeat by virus)
well it sure is hard securing modern computer because its so complex. heh, there aren't (m)any viruses for ZX/C64..
Here is what else I would do: make sure all workers have identical windows version, and have the same autoruns.exe output (list of all things that start on boot). Then make offline md5 sums of all system files using liveusb and check them periodically.
sandbox those browsers; try making executable files unmodifiable by anything hostile.
teach all the workers about security. disable autorun on all machines. dont let them run as admins. use noscript and adblock and foxit (or similar). update windows and AV regularly...
I titter when I hear that because incandescent bulbs warm your house it means you don't need as much heating so you are saving energy and helping the environment!
This argument is so weak all I'll say is heating in summer?
there is no summer in basement, you insensitive clod!
welcome to the future..
it is obvious where this is heading. large portions of game code will be on their servers. it will be then very hard to crack that.
the pirate would have to finish game.. several times when they make it nonlinear.
hm, what about S3 standby. if it keeps refreshing DRAM for a long time, does it shorten memory life?
(sorry for being offtopic, bu I need to know that).
thanks.
no, the sad part is that we need so much of damn printer ink.
what happened with that talk about paperless office (years ago)?
everyone is spoiled by the quality of print (vs monitor).
hm, in a way expensive ink is good.. to remind people to conserve trees

Its probably not easy to reduce dot pitch and pixels. Go sue someone for lack of flying cars..
Try to multiply two, million-digit numbers together on your laptop and you'll see what I mean.
pfft, I dont need laptop for that: 10*10^1000000=10^1000001
:P
oh my, they did their calculations on windows! so there must be some nasty viruses in those first 5 trillion already
no, not just spammers. millions of people would be free of it.
"There's probably an excellent Firefox plugin to render this page's color scheme more bearable."
just select all page, its better.
imagine this thing with RC helicopter!
finaly, a flight sim with decent graphics..
gee, no shit, sherlock.. except when they get caught for this (and some surely will) it won't be the same situation as with viagra spam.

maybe they mean in solar powered cars..
saving every 5 min is not cheating if game has such option originally. think of all time and nerves wasted on something thats supposed to be FUN.

and the race to top is bad for the whole Earth.. it has to stop somewhere so "world is not enough"
