I've heard this before, and I'm really not sure i agree. The few times I've watched it, they take things out of context like crazy. The last time I watched it, was when they we're "interviewing" some author of a boot titled like "people who are wrecking america". They (meaning I guess, Jon) did not give him a chance to respond to any of their statements, they cut him off and sent him home basically. Bill O'Reilly (sp?) does better than that even.

It's because for years now, we the consumers have been so abused with web publishers pushing ads on us that we immediately jump to defend ourselves against them, whether it's justified or not.

I'm annoyed by the ads, as probably most people. And i wish that companies would realize that google ads are probably the best, because i have more than once intentionally clicked them. Only time i ever clicked a banner ad was when i thought it was so stupid i had to see it. But don't say you're abused. Jiminy Cricket.

I have a laptop keyboard and a normal keyboard and i use the normal one. It's easier to type on, I don't accidentally hit the wrong keys as much. Plus the laptop is harder to play games on, i think because there's more space between keys you can touch type better or something.

It's a preference of course, but I think you're in the minority.

A developer earning 50-60k up here is considered middle-upper class. He can afford a house on his own, along with all the latest tech toys. Try that in Redmond... yeah right!

OK i did, i made just over 60k (63k) for 2 years, lived in an middle-upper class lifestyle. I certainly could have gotten a house, many of my peers (who i'm assuming didn't make much more/less than me, did). I put over 10k into a 401k for 1 year, and I was not living cheap, if I wanted something i got it (for most anything cheaper than say a new car). While i'm not living in Redmond, I am living in Kirkland, which is right next door. I suspect Redmond would actually be cheaper than where i'm living now. Oh and I got dental/medical/vision coverage (thansk to my employer). Granted I didn't(don't) have a family and only am supporting my self, but even with a family i'm sure I could have managed to live pretty much the same life style, just without saving as much.

So there, been there, done that :P

If you have no intention of suing people over possible misuse of your code, then use an unrestricted license.

Reallly? i mean if I release some code under the GPL, I would probably not sue someone over it. But does that mean that I want people to ignore the license i gave it? no I wouldn't. I guess it's similar to saying someone is on the 'honor' system.
