Hid.im is a new web-based service that allows users to hide .torrent files inside PNG images. This means that users can easily upload hidden torrent files to their favorite image hosting service and forums, or use it as an avatar on social networking sites without being censored.

I agree, majority rules is flawed in many ways.
I still think that the people should be able to influence the society they live in. There are higher laws then majority will, protected by the constitution - so if this is unfair under the constitution - get the laws revoked for they violate your rights under the constitution.

I'm all for gay rights, but saying that "OTHER PEOPLE" should have no say in it sounds fair.

Saying that the majority of people have no say on how the laws of the society are... really doesn't sound as fair.

Not that I am comparing the two issues, but I would vote for banning guns. I don't really care about your right to have guns, I just don't want guns, they kill people. So if the majority of the society agrees, we still shouldn't ban guns ?

By banning I mean "heavily regulated" - only guns to use for hunting.

I don't live in the USA - where I live guns are heavily regulated and we have a lesbian prime minister :)

Can't remember what series it was that was the mercy kill of the last interest in Star Trek I had, but they were all in a boat, 18th century stuck in the holodeck or s-t, fighting a battle with cannons against pirates.

It's not Sci-fi, it's just soap opera with no boundaries.

Funny bit from Apple Crop vs. Apple Inc.

In 1991, another settlement involving payment of around US$26.5 million to Apple Corps was reached.[4] This time, an Apple employee named Jim Reekes had included a sampled system sound called Chimes to the Macintosh operating system, but Apple's legal department objected citing the agreement with Apple Corps. Reekes renamed the sound to sosumi, which he asserted was Japanese and meant nothing musical, but in fact can be read phonetically as âoeso sue meâ.
