pretty sure cops go faster than traffic purposely not to cause traffic jams / accidents on the highway.. People often drive much slower/stupider (paying more attention to the cop rather than the road in general) than required when a cop just sits in the lane next to them.
Personally I feel like GPL over steps its bounds when it try to grab plugins under its wing. For me its a simple test.
What if I just just so happened to make a closed source word press competitor. it just so happens that this theme/plugin works perfectly in my closed source solution without any reference or dependency to WordPress. Please explain to me why that plugin needs to be under GPL just because it just so happens to work under WordPress. Doesn't that seem silly to anyone else?
Remember I'm just talking plugins in general not this specific case however it may apply. I haven't sifted through all the details
Thanks for the heads up friend! But alas I am well aware of my inability to conquer the English language grammatically. I just simply don't care. =) However I replied to say it brightens my day to know that I have made you feel just a bit better about yourself because you are able to point out my flaws! Truly a noble endeavor. Thank you again for your contribution to this discussion, my way of thought, and in fact the world at large.
Private companies, private matters right? Thats my first thoughts for sure when I think of something like this. But when you think about it where is the line? Where is the line when its one nation is funding and fostering corperate espionage against companies of another nation. When does some like this become an "economic" attack when doesn't it. If it deemed an attack on the economics of one nation whet kind of defenses or protocols do we have? I don't know the answers and I'm not saying its the case here but it certainly questions I think governments are going to ask themselves as these types of attacks become more and more public
I can't tell if there was sarcasm in this or not. If not makes me sad panda.
Seriously its the little things that make people happy and keep them that way. The less happy you make them the less productive they will be. And the easier they will become targets to get sniped by other companies Which do you think costs more in the long run that cup of coffee or the lost productivity/retraining?
Ugh don't make me throwup with the stakeholders line. Because praising the almighty stake holders for that short-term near quarter bump has no long term implications
Companies have this awful sense of entitlement when it comes to taking advantage of there workers
Got love how everyday people will get sued by corporations for many times their annual income ( $80,000 a song) but when it comes to corporations getting sued it equates to a far lower ratio. Any one else think its kind of silly.
I guess my post was a little vague. Do I think the market share is going to drastically swing in that short amount of time? Probably not. But what I think is that the Droid will provide a platform to Devs to say, "Hey look at this phone, Android isn't a lost cause". That said I already know more then a few non techie friends that have picked up a Droid. At the very least I think Droid will stem Verizon's bleed and seriously make Apple rethink its AT&T exclusivity. I wouldn't want to be in AT&T's shoes when that 2010 contract expiry comes up.
With the Droid pushing momentum behind the demand. It will be interesting to see how Apple's and Android's app markets compare over time. Based on their tactics I don't think this one is going to swing Apples way.
This is another case of look at what we can do tech-wise without looking that there are buisness solutions already in place. Any company that is the size of google etc. Where they are concerned about a particular risk in electricity prices would simply hedge these risks in the financial market... Not to say this tech isn't a nifty approach to things just is it the optimal solution biz wise
Just wait until some study comes out that this type of energy extraction affects the major global currents. That these changes kill cute dolphins thus is evil like all energy consumption!
Really??? Something such as auto-renewal charging is not EULA material. Most users have been brainwashed into clicking yes through these things. Sounds like I should make 40 page EULA on my next app that states "LULz if accepted you agree to the additional BS fee of 1 million dollars".
I don't see why they couldn't do anything as mentioned here as per magazine/utilities models. (Yes utilities have auto renew but all that I've come across force you to sign up and hit at least 3 "Are you sure you want to turn this on buttons") Really this just comes across as a petty way to get a few more bucks out of people.
If anything this is more about accessibility. I once had to do a project working with archived data from NOAA. A site like this would have saved me a lot of time.. As with anything give it time and it will hopefully get better.. Either that or wither and die in a new administration =P

With the Droid out and the recent marketing push in terms of Verizon dollars behind it I think this might look a little different down the road a bit.

WHOOSHHHHH. Was that the ISS flying over head???
crashes has such negative connotations. NASA prefers you use the term terrestrial parking. Thanks!
It does everything but spell check! =)
