    I had very good results with EasyPeasy on my EEE 901. Everything (incl. webcam, wifi, network, sound, hotkeys, etc.) works like a charm without any tweaking necessary. It's based on Ubuntu.

    I recommend reading the book Them: Adventures with Extremists by Jon Ronson. Highly entertaining, and he infiltrates one of the Bilderberg meetings in California.

    No way I could otherwise watch unsynchronized TV shows (I live in Austria), there isn't even the option of e.g. watching the Simpsons in English here (except waiting a few years for the DVD release). So much subtle nuance is lost and so many glaring errors are made in translation it's not even funny. Very frustrating. My thanks to all Americans making their TV shows available via Bittorrent.

    If you're using Outlook, then I can't recommend the LookOut searching software enough. Searches gigantic mail folders in no time, and it's free (as in beer). You can find it here.

    The difference is that the US government and companies don't give a flying fuck about lobbying/pressuring other countries to amend their anti-spam law, but will of course do so for Copyright/Patent law.
