Having seen the full video, I can come to only one conclusion: the video does not show any solid evidence of injuries because the quality is low. I saw some things that may have been injuries, but they could have just as easily been due to the shape of his head.
I've got a HP inkjet sitting on my desk that's over 10 years old and is still working. Granted, it hasn't been in use all that time, but it still has several years of use on it.
My first reaction to this was WTF, but I think I know the basic idea for his plan: pack as many people into a tin can as possible and send them flying. Couple that with frequent trips and the price drops even further. This is also probably going to involve asteroid/moon mining as well as fuel plants on Mars.
I am still very skeptical that he could get the cost down to 500k/person even with all of those improvements, but a 5m/person cost doesn't seem impossible to achieve with economies of scale.
Since obviously a metal detector will detect that sort of thing, the tsa will now buy new millimeter wave/backscatter x-ray scanners with a traditional metal detector integrated into the system. The only reason they're going to give up their toys is because they can get better ones.
The problem there is with the doctors, and I've actually encountered this problem myself. During my first year of college I stopped taking my adderall out of negligence (would forget to take it mostly). Then, on one occasion I decided to take it. I'm not sure what to call what I experienced, but I found myself shaking and rooted to my seat, unable to function the moment I tried to work. After that I swore never to take it again. Fast forward a few months and I've dropped out because, well stopping taking meds in your first year of college when you've been taking them since 5th grade is not the best idea. I go to see a psychologist because at that point I was a bit of a train wreck. One of the first things the psychologist insists is that I go back on the meds, ignoring my protests (she was claiming that the reaction I had was related to some outside factor, not the meds themselves). I would never sell them and because I was not in my parents' best graces so I had to take them, but if I was a rebellious teen looking for a quick buck I could easily see myself selling those pills. Doctors need to realize that these meds have serious side effects beyond hearing things/seeing things/thoughts of suicide/etc.
The lack of vaccines puts other children in the practice at risk. If I'm a glutton I don't put other patients at risk. Smoking is a little trickier because of secondhand smoke, but simply being a smoker and coming into the practice because you've got lung cancer doesn't put other patients at risk of getting lung cancer. When a unvaccinated child that should have been vaccinated comes in with mumps, every other child that is unvaccinated is now at risk. As parents take children that are too young to get their vaccines in, this is a real risk.
Funny that you mention this. This past fall my uni gave me a message about a case of mumps on campus. I was fine and I don't know if others were infected, but my first thought when I saw that message was that if that person was vaccinated then it never would have been a problem.
Doctors don't recommend that everyone get a flu shot. They recommend that everyone that is at risk of developing complications from the flu (ie old/young, has asthma) get the shot.
The problem with people taking pills in the US is that drug companies sell pills to us as magic cure-alls. With regards to adhd med, I've seen ritalin and adderall marketed as wonderpills (and they have a similar reputation on the street). From firsthand experience these are anything but wonder pills. They don't do anything to help with any of the other issues that people with ADHD have as all they do is improve your focus, and if you're someone like me who is easily stressed they can actually make things worse. These meds are also mood altering. They gave me roid rage. The worst part about it is that if you're the one taking the meds it's hard for you to notice this stuff if you follow good practice and gradually increase your dosage.
Not true. Black holes emit radiation in the form of Hawking Radiation. Because of the laws of physics, this radiation carries information about what went into the hole. Wikipedia's description is decent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_hole_information_paradox
All NASA needs to do is author a report about the possibility of oil on Mars. I'm certain a few companies would then pay to have some drilling rigs sent over there.
And they actually hold to that promise. Having a smartphone is handy for this. Find some item for sale on newegg, walk to your local frys and show them the item on your phone and pay the same price that you would have had it been online (keep in mind that they're gonna add shipping to the online price). I've done this before and it actually works.
Every time I walk into a Best Buy I end up asking myself the question "Why am I here and not Fry's?" Their prices are not competitive and their selection is crap. I once went into one to see if I could buy an inexpensive screen protector for my phone. All they had were expensive ones that exceeded 10% of what I paid for the phone. Furthermore the installation of this brand is notoriously difficult, but they offered installation for another 8 bucks (or so). I didn't buy it. I also was in there recently returning a usb hub that someone got for me (the design of the hub had a fatal flaw and I knew it wouldn't last). The prices were appalling. Honestly just about the only positive thing that a best buy has done for me recently was convince me that a tablet is a waste of money. The only thing that keeps them operating are the people that don't know better.
Hmm...I bought an open-box wifi router from them once. When I went to set it up, I found that I couldn't connect to it. It turns out whoever had it earlier had actually taken the proper step of changing the admin password but the folks at frys were too lazy to reset the router to change it back to factory defaults prior to reshelving it (although this technically isn't their fault-I believe their return policy states that items must be returned in the factory state).
I'd also say the "you need to know exactly what you want" isn't exactly true. I've run into knowledgeable staff there before (well they were more knowledgeable than the people that you find at best buy, not that it means anything).
Well I've heard a MS rep come very close to saying that. When he was talking about Dreamspark, he pretty much outright stated that its purpose is to get students hooked on their development software so that their future employers will buy a copy later.
A group of people demands that a well known politician turned lobbyist get investigated for bribery. They know that they are all guilty of a little quid pro quo themselves so in order to save their own asses and job prospects after they leave office they don't investigate.
This angers me though. I had high hopes for Obama forcing lobbyists to clean up their act, but he hasn't delivered. I was planning on voting for him simply because the Republican policies of ignoring science and cutting everything down to the bone disturb me, but now I think I'm going to vote third party.
You're fortunate that the editor who tagged it as such backed down so quickly. There are some editors out there who have personal vendettas against video games and will nominate articles that have been around for years for deletion.
So a new user comes in, makes a small grammatical edit and gets yelled at for violating some Wikipedia policy that the new user did not in fact violate. Friendly indeed.
Are you so blind as to think that this is some brilliant plan by Apple to end the patent wars? If that's the case, then why didn't Apple sue everyone directly as they have done in the past? Why does Apple continue to litigate against anyone who even comes close to their designs? Why hasn't Apple simply used it's massive pile of cash to buy a few senators and congressmen and make them pass a law crippling the patent trolls?
This is nothing more than a monopolistic power grab by Apple.
So how is selling movie downloads justifiable? They were profiting off of the work of other people; these sites were the digital equivalent of the guy around the corner who sells bootleg movies. Although I disapprove of the method, it doesn't magically make the site operators right.
Nah the first one is real. It appears to be some sort of cover on the ground. If you look at it closely you will see that there is sediment deposited on top of the white material in a manner that suggests flowing water. As you can see older flow patterns get interrupted, I'm assuming that this is some sort of plastic sheet (though the fact that it's 50m wide does intrigue me on how it would be deployed).
I got one of these calls once. I started ranting about how they were perpetrating a scam et cetera and then hung up. That was the last time they ever called. I only wish I had the presence of mind to play along in order to extract information out of the person on the other end.

By the way, Sanford has put up the videos and 911 calls at http://sanfordfl.gov/investigation/trayvon_martin.html

I haven't read Candide, but all I can say is that when I was in High School I read The Handmaid's Tale.

Ultimately my vote isn't going to affect anything except the popular vote. Obama would have to seriously fuck up to lose CA.

There's better than that. You should go check out imagery from the LRO of those sites.
