Thinkpad R60's were given out to my seniors and some faculty by the college. Right now they are 5+ years old. Apart from accidental damage, and a few hardware failures covered by warranty most of them are in perfect condition.
You never had applications revoked, a user could install whatever they wanted, and you got a fantastic combination of battery life, Audio quality and camera quality at a decent price.
You lost out on the good looking UI and gaming power though
No, its from a technical perspective. From the linked/. article
Lawyers for Oracle and Google gave Judge William Alsup of the U.S. District Court in San Francisco an overview of Java and why it was invented, and an explanation of terms such as bytecode, compiler, class library and machine-readable code. The tutorial was to prepare him for a claim construction conference in two weeks, where he'll have to sort out disputes between the two sides about how language in Oracle's Java patents should be interpreted. At one point an attorney for Google, Scott Weingaertner, described how a typical computer is made up of applications, an OS and the hardware underneath. 'I understand that much,' Alsup said, asking him to move on. But he had to ask several questions to grasp some aspects of Java, including the concept of Java class libraries. 'Coming into today's hearing, I couldn't understand what was meant by a class,' he admitted."
Do you actually know how "tax brackets" work? I see so many arguments like this on/. and I can only conclude that many posters haven't ever had a full-time job.
If you mean the fact that tax is charged on the incremental amount, then you dont need a job to understand it, its part of 10th grade maths
Game prices in India are about 20-30% of the USD prices, and about 50% of the prices from 5 years back.(only for PC's, not for gaming consoles) I assumed that its a typical phenomenon...
I live in India, and from news reports it does seem like broadband is mature in US with 100mbps fiber connections and download quotas above 250GB being popular, as compared to 512kbps ADSL connections, dropping to 256kbps after 8GB as a baseline here.
I've been curious for a while, but have to ask

How can this data be used against you in any way, other than the fact that someone can steal stuff from your house if they know you arent home?
Mines only 3 years old.. Want to see how long I can drag it on
Have seen operational ones which are 6+ years old (Dont know the exact age/model, but they run Win 95 and have a floppy drive)
They do run windows 7, Office 2007 and other basic software without struggling much
Also, you get a 4:3 screen
A RAM upgrade from 1GB to 2GB is all thats needed
Gaming and 1080p are outside their capability I think

What about a Thinkpad with the corporate management features and a 5+ year lifespan?
At $800 it works out to $160 per year
That was supposed to be "Less Than" $20/month
A basic thinkpad costs around $800
Thinkpads last 7+ years, assuming a useful life of 5 years, cost per year = $160 $20/month
Symbian(s60) was better than all others..

Atleast in India, most CC transactions are charged at 2%, and thats for small shops which make maybe 10-15 transactions a month
Considering that Intel sells its own boards as well, perhaps they could manufacture some with coreboot
Did he consider that many people may never actually use the coupon?
(just like people impulse buy games on Steam @ 90%off, but never play them)

I dont really know much about anything medical, but feeling suicidal is a positive symptom?
Configure static IP's on all the machines
Take a 100 port hub or build it yourself
connect all machines to it
Enjoy :)

Does a company really want someone who works only for the additional benefits of the company, rather than the core business?
I'm coming from this line is the article:
"The workshops are my No. 1 perk at Google," Awad said during a break from a welding project. "They're the main reason I will be a Googler for life."
There would probably be a clause in the subscriber agreement allowing it
possibly printer ink..
When will Seagate and WD merge now?
