    actually, i do have CD - R's from 1999 bought from a no name brand without any protective coating on the top(the side on which you write with a pen was a thin silver layer, which if you scratched, a scratch appeared on the data side as well)

    had bought a pack of 10 then, recently when i checked 9 of them were working, and i had managed to lose the 10th one

    it has stuff like the entertainment pack from win 95, NFS2 and some other such software which is not all that easy to find now..

    cause from what i see in college it is the mech and civil people stuck with the lathe machines, smithy shop,foundry and strength of materials labs in the heat

    there are Industrial training institutes and different colleges have programmes where you can get a diploma in these trades

    wouldnt that be better than a high school class?

    while not in school, all of the engineering colleges here have basic workshop in the 1st semester for all branches, which teaches the basics of fitting,carpentry and soldering, sometimes it is handy to have these skills

    why not have transmitters along the road, which would broadcast the speed limit to the cars on that road

    the traditional speed governors could be modified to pick up these speed limits and enforce them..

    just used exponential to say that if the load starts increasing, the rate of increase would also keep increasing as, suppose 1 person plays it, he tell about it to 2 more who tell it to 2 more people each so 4 more and do on

    not sure which is the correct word for this so used exponential

    of course it would only be valid if the game were to be popular..

    why not just have a system where yahoo(or any other site for that matter) would charge $10-20 for the complaint and refund the money if the complaint was found valid
    the validity could be established by asking for a scanned copy of the driving licence, passport,etc
    this would prevent spamming

    if her photos or personal information uniquely identifying her is published, then, it would not be too difficult for her to give an id proof conclusively linking her to the article

    somewhat similar to the policy my college has about exam result reevaluation

    if you think that you have got less marks than you deserve, then you pay them Rs 500, if there is any correction found, your money is refunded

    this is to prevent everyone from asking for reevaluations

    somehow, unlike everyone else, I find the ribbon quite useful compared to the original menu system, have discovered many options in word/excel/ppt that i never knew were there making pivot tables had also been made much easier in 2007 also, the formatting dialog that opens when you select some text is incredibly useful wonder what more innovations we will get in 2010

    but isnt most FOSS targeted to the equivalents of "car junkies, tuners, gear heads, who accept that it is experimental and know the risk, that is a completely different story." as of now mainstream versions like ubuntu,openoffice have only about as many problems as paid products so u r getting 2 options 1- pay for a product with bugs and sue later 2- get a similar product for free, if u dont like it, remove it and go for option 1 after all, software wont blow up the computer, and people using the software in applications where it could cause significant monetary loss should be having someone to advise them also, if u tell people that there is a chance of ur car blowing up , even a 10 year old with an IQ of 10 can understand it

    if you give the oil for free(linux,OOo,etc) tell the people that it may blow up their cars and do not force them to take it,instead ask them to tell u the model of their car if it blows up(bug reporting) and there is a shop selling it to them for an inflated price and they can buy it from there, i dont think u have done anything morally wrong

    wouldnt something like that become quite bloated over time(like Norton,nero,etc..)
