Maybe not such a bad idea. I know that if you happen to have not just one, but 2 free lines you can set it up with your ISP to connect through both of them (assuming 2 modems too) for faster speeds. If you could work the same thing with the DSL and cable (I have no idea...) that would provide for some really fast downloading when both are up, and still the quickness of either one if one happens to go down.
Well, the tech industry isn't doing too well for sure, but not a reason to assume that everyone is broke (and that's why people make wishlists, for other people to buy them things...). There are plenty of geeks not directly in the tech sector, or not yet at least (I'm just going through college now) so I'm not really affected by the tech slowdown (except cheaper ram:) ) Too bad I'm a po' college student.
I really thought this was a nice page. I found an old pentium lying around somewhere, and I was thinking of installing Linux on it just to test it out (hanging around Slashdot, you just have to eventually...) so I'm glad I saw this before I tried anything.
Dibs on being a revolutionary. It's always looked like fun to me. Not the horrible torture after getting caught of course, but other than that. And the running from the law. Not counting those, I'll be down for it in a second.
Even though I'm not that old, I remember trying to figure out pretty much the basics of how computers worked with my 8088 (they had much better by the time I got into it...but I was a po' kid). I remember when companies first started putting web addresses in their commercials and thinking how cool such a big BBS would be...
You have no idea how painful it was to play LORD on a 300 bps connection. I think the modem was 1200 but it wouldn't work right. I could probably beep into the phone faster...
Would it be so hard to be at least factually correct? Antarctic is not only north, it is the most southern part of the globe, but there are also no polar bears there. And do the I-Gloo's come in pretty colors?
I like hearing stories like this, and this one is no exception, but I must commend this guy on his memory and detail after 56 years. Hehe, notice how he said "And then I came up with a way to count the gunner's score" or some such quote, then says about how someone else was the group leader? (DuMond?) Maybe not everything he said is true...
That sounds very interesting. Is there anyway this could be applied to other types of vehicles? I know turbo's on cars work off of the exhaust in cars, but it's not the same thing.
Even the mere thought of sending a robot to protest for you makes me sick. What a way to show your conviction by doing something else.
And say you send one of these to go protest Dmitry's arrest for you? Then you'll probably just be arrested yourself for breaking some kind of DMCA rules which makes no sense here in RealWorld (no affiliation with Real Networks). And God knows they're all going to have Linux installed anyway, which is good and all, except the companies making them will go under, because Linux just doesn't make money.
Actually, no, I have never watched it, but I heard that about it once, and I have friends that watch it, so one day, they were like "Oooh, Tenchi's on", so I inquired "Isn't that a show for little girls?" Since they both admitted yes, I didn't feel like I was wrong, and as you didn';t even try to admit it, I don't see exactly why I'm a troll. Well, I do, but I still blame the moderators.
Wouldn't that essentially be the test that Lavin performed? Though the boiling them would be within livable heats for some organisms, but according to the data, obviously not these ones.

What is up with the screen on that gigantic photo? It looks like someone is raising their Tamagochi on there (Who remembers that fad?)
It does look rather cool, and it looks like it would come back to you when you throw it.

More GEOS reminiscing, in an article about another tiny app.
Maybe you're unaware that everyone hates Macs.
Once I figured out what you meant, on a scale of 1 - 10, that was sooo disturbing.

:)
Oh, and thanks for the memories

Because everyone knows penguins taste like chicken with freezer burn.

2 hours and 40 minutes later they posted it. You couldn't have just waited a little while? Patience is obivously a virtue you are without.
I believe you mean "Ze Germans"

Well, at least it's good that Free Korea is trying to learn something from the US right?
See, I would think it would be "The Clones Strike Back."

So the real reason NASA doesn't look for life is they don't want to look dumb if they wrong? That's what I get from the article anyway...
Isn't this someone's sig? I'm sure they'll be so happy you jacked it and got the karma, hehe
