If you're "not bloody likely" to die say, having sex, in a room, I'll wager it's quite likely that sitting alone in the room at "not bloody likely" + 37% is still somewhere under "bloody likely" ya think?
This method is reactive rather than predictive. When a new spam blast is sent out, it can only start filtering after it reverse engineers the template, a critical delay which means a higher % of spam messages will get past than against virtually all predictive methods. Meanwhile the spammers are just going to generate the template itself from a template.
Sometimes a dumb mistake can be dumb luck. For instance, if the best diagnostician in the country misdiagnoses a patient and orders radiation which would then wipe out his immune system and leave him doomed to the infection that is really his underlying problem, dosing the wrong patient might work out in the end.
It could happen.
The developers in question are in California, an 'At Will' employment state. The employer at any time and for absolutely no stated reason can hand any employee final payment and walk him out. The only recourse the employee has is that if he is terminated without cause, he is eligible for unemployment benefits which are paid from the employer's insurance company, which leads to higher insurance rates. It's not a terrible system, and developers who have a pair and a brain get on well enough without having to take significant abuse.
Ah but there's nothing like the rush of jumping into certain death flying in a time investment of multiple months and fighting like you're already dead and have nothing left to lose. Brings back lots of fun fun memories (3 tri 3 3 vsq)
Dogs are smarter than cats.
Cats are smarter than dogs.
Women prefer the window closed.
Men see driving as a road race.
Teens see their parents as full on dorks.
Mickey Mouse, and the Ears, are registered trademarks of Disney. Steamboat Willie, et. al., are the copyrightable works. There's a huge difference between issuing Steamboat Willie on a rogue DVD and selling your product with Disney ears for a logo.
You need to look at the upfront cost of the C++ developer -- including his personal impact on the environment -- against the ongoing higher cost of php. What's the ROI of a doubled development footprint against a 1/10 maintenance footprint? 1 year? 10?
The vast majority of my applicants are foreign-born, and freshly or recently moved to Australia. So far the only Aussie to apply to my most recent position was referred by one of my Aussie devs.
But remember, it's not what you believe, it's whether you believe. To that I would add, it's best not to get caught in the middle.

Don't be disingenuous -- in /., are you happy or sad is answered yes.
Saying "free but effective" suggests that free suggests ineffective.
There, fixed that for you. Saying "implies" means a -> b

Didn't realise there are six syllables in Jonathan. Scottie got richer. J
How about a wives version with only the ads but no football.
Amend the bill in the Senate to also make it a crime to video record morbid scenes and we might get just a sliver of humanity returned to us.
Moot m8. Moot.

Are they renting flicks in a tiny window with crap resolution? For more than .25US?
Someday Google will be larger than even China, and then nobody will dare mess with their servers.
When a prediction spurs on nothing but agreement in /. on how to implement it, you know it's bound to happen.

You're on the right track if your customer can stand behind you and verify that you have their rules down correctly in your code.
Apropos that i4i gets eye for an eye from none other than Microsoft.

Shouldn't you iterate that it's beautiful before reiterating it?

So yes a woman can actually "grow a pair". Cool.
