    They are pictures of her, not her parents.
    Maybe her parents should post naked pics of themselves as kids on facebook if they can't live without the attention.

    Of course it's trivial. But how many people actually think to do this?
    I think that many people, probably even most, think that the picture is all there is, and never even consider that there might be other data stored in the file.

    Why do they need more punishment than just jail time?
    The whole point of courts and a justice system is that it's justice, not revenge.
    Otherwise we might as well do away with the pretense and let vigilantes mete out "justice".

    Only if you also make sure that the file format doesn't support EXIF of some other metadata that contains your address or an unmodified thumbnail.

    Don't know if they did this, but samsung could have just sent a big popup saying this device is being recalled.
    You get a big message whenever they release an update too.
    Maybe the carriers can prevent this somehow dunno, but in that case blame them.

    I could be wrong, but I thought it was the exact opposite.
    As far as I understand Ireland determines how much tax to charge, with the problem being that in this case they charged apple less tax than they do other companies.
    On second thought, maybe your right.
    Ireland only charged taxes on sales within Ireland, and was supposed to collect on sales in the rest of the EU but didn't.
    If that's the case then it's more like California telling you you don't have to pay federal tax.
    Which would obviously be bullshit.

    Completely different.
    Your company is not the one who determines how much tax you are supposed to pay.
    The Irish government is the one who determines how much tax apple should pay.
    If they misinform apple, then that is their fault, not apples.
    If the EU disagrees with Ireland, then they should demand the money from Ireland, not apple.
    Whether or not Ireland tries to get the money form apple should be up to them.

    I would say that if Ireland doesn't want to collect from apple that's their problem, as long as they still pay the EU.
    Then they can get sued for subsidizing apple, but that is a different issue in my eyes.

    So Ireland made a deal with apple about them paying less taxes.
    Maybe this deal was against EU regulations, maybe it wasn't.
    Why should apple have to pay back taxes to the EU?
    If Ireland broke EU regulations, then Ireland is the one who should pay up.
    If I unknowingly buy a stolen car and the police find out, I lose the car.
    I don't suddenly have to pay an additional fee for having the car for 6 months.

    About 40 years ago in europe we didn't have supermarkets.
    Instead the milk man and the greengrocer would make their rounds and bring cheese, milk, and vegetables right to your door.
    Maybe we will return to that model.
    Maybe instead of a UPS truck there will be a wallmart truck driving around dropping off peoples food orders every morning.
    Of course, you actually have to be home for this to work, or will they just leave it out by the door?

    If I think it makes the code looks cluttered I will remove it.
    If I think it makes things more clear then I will put it in.
    For instance, braces for if else where one of the branches is more than 1 line and the other isn't.

    Even universities provide computers for everyone to do their lab work on.
    In high school it would be ridiculous to just expect every family to buy a computer just for homework.

    I was planning to just mod up some comments about how stupid and wrong this all is, but I can't believe that someone actually seriously wrote this.
    First of all, you don't need to constantly upgrade. I bought mine 3 years ago for less than $1000 (including monitor and SSD) and I'm still playing new games at 60FPS.
    Then there is the whole thing of not having to put it together yourself. You can buy ready made gaming systems.
    More costly than a console? Yes. But it's a PC. If that's not a plus for you, by all means, keep playing on a console.
    And then he picks apple? The most expensive hardware ever created from a cost/performance standpoint?

    My point isn't that you shouldn't block outgoing traffic.
    My point is that now that you know this product phones home, you should not buy it.
    Instead find on that doesn't phone home.
    You can block traffic just in case and still buy hardware that (as far as you know) doesn't open you up to huge security risks.

    If I have to jump through hoops and block traffic from this device just so it's not a security risk, it's not reliable or secure.
    If this device were free I wouldn't complain so much, but in this case you are paying for it.

    Try to keep them from harming us, but other than that just let them do in their country whatever they want.
    Going into other countries to "help" them never helps anything.
    You have to let people fight out their problems on their own.

    Even slowing down for 10 feet will significantly reduce any damage done.
    Basically, I have a hard time thinking of any situation where slowing down is not the best solution.
    Not only does it reduce your speed, and so the force with which you will hit whatever is in front of you, but it also gives you (and your car) more time to consider other options that don't involve crashing into a wall, or a cardboard cutout of a person.

    The answer is always the same. Brake.
    Doesn't matter if it's a car, or a crate full of little girls with cute bunnies.
    Swerving anywhere is never the right answer.
    If you (or the computer) had enough time to consider whether or not to swerve into some direction, all you did was waste time you could have spent slowing down.
    Also, in that situation, your car should already be slowing down the moment it detects another car cutting you off.

    Only if that obstacle was already near the side of the car rather than the center.
    You would have less than half a second to react and change direction.
    Chances are you would still hit it.
    At least if you hit the brake instead you don't hit it as hard.
