I was in Weatherford, Texas recently and noticed a dealership exclusively devoted to selling Smart Cars. Their website suggests they are modified imports.
Hrmm, I can use VxVM which has been out for 10 years and is rock solid OR I can use ZFS which Sun just released in the latest Solaris Express; it's not even shipping in a supported product!
I love Total Annihilation; been playing for 8 yrs now. Too bad more people don't play it, it kinda sucks playing against the computer all the time. I can't wait for Supreme Commander.
During the last few months of my senior year at Texas A&M, a friend and I took over #aggies on Efnet. It just so happened that one of the bots we were using resided on a computer on the campus network. Various people tried to get me expelled for abusing University computer resources, fortunately I was acquitted.
It's amazing how worked up people get over a friggin IRC channel. We received threats of physical violence and people were constantly trying to exploit splits to retake the channel. We finally lost the channel a week later when someone started a ping flood and our ISP shut us down.
The best part of the whole deal was when we printed t-shirts stating "I 0wn3d #aggies and all I got was this stupid t-shirt" and wore it to the LUG meeting.
Bitch, bitch, bitch. You make it sound like the Red Cross's top priority is to serve the wannabe volunteers rather than the people affected by Katrina. They're a charity for chrissakes, give them a break!
As a fellow Dallasite who actually lives near Reunion, I'm doing my part by staying out of the way .
We found performance to be so abhorrent with our Filers and Sun boxen, that we are making the switch to SAN. Of course, my company cheaped out on their NAS implementation so maybe that's to blame.
We just bought some Cisco MDS switches to replace our off-lease Brocades. Big mistake. We're having all sorts of problems with our tape SAN because the Cisco doesn't support first gen LTO drives. We have to upgrade to Gen2 or 3 LTO to "fix" the problem.
I just got back from Bangalore. My driver could speak english, arabic, hindi, kannada, tamil, and 5 other Indian languages. I found it peculiar that the only language he could write in was english.
Yeah, I remember doing that with those login screens that featured an IBM logo in ascii art. After getting the password, we'd bounce the machine with some COM program we'd found, =).
I'm able to connect to T-Mobile's GPRS service in FreeBSD 5.3. It's about as fast as a 56k modem, but it works well when you have little choice. The FreeBSD Handbook has a nifty Bluetooth section which among other things explains how to use the Dial-Up Networking service profile.
I'm posting this over my T610 as we speak, but I've noticed that T-Mobile cracked down recently on what ports you can access. With the $5 tzones plan, I can only do HTTP/HTTPS now whereas a month ago I was able to do SSH as well.

Here in Dallas with TWC I receive Discover HD unencrypted.
You mean you don't set KEYBOARD_ABORT=disable in /etc/default/kbd?
The V490 is 5U, not 4.
It's probably the same genius that came up with the wretched ODM in AIX.

Plus you get a free Veritas license, at least on Solaris (sparc). Don't know if it works on x86.

I'm paying about $0.60/gigabyte for HDS 9585 FC storage, how now brown cow?

You call that a four-digit ID?
Bah, Linux is a toy compared to Solaris. A typical "large" Linux system is what, 4-8 procs? My low-end Sun boxen are 4-8 procs...

This article seems to suggest the contrary. Granted, the store doesn't have the same amount of polish as my Apple Store in Dallas.
Here in Bangalore, India there is a store in the local mall called Apple Centre.
Sun has done the same thing with a feature called SMF in Solaris 10.

Furthermore, they should adopt an interface that doesn't suck. I miss Dejanews...

How low can this go?
