    You beat me to it. I like the internet being kind of like the old west, there is "feds", "sheriffs" and "fences" here and there but for quite a bit it is rather open fields were you can do what you like.

    I have actually found that if I spend all my points before they run out and don't post while I have them I tend to continue to get them until I break the cycle.

    I always thought is was "The Man's" Phallic Symbol for tearing you down.

    UDF is also used on DVD Media. That is why it is supported.

    After those failed attempts Santa decided the only was to remove the Special from his mind was to replace it with a bullet. In his stint of insanity trying to remove the Special he forgot that putting a bullet in his head would kill him.

    I am that way too. I know my data is out on Facebook because I put it there.

    I would say that yes the flow of information is important, it has been for a long time. The flow of entertainment on the other hand is almost a river of piss.

    I used to see little packs you could get that held 2 AA batteries and plugged in a phone. I do not know if they make them for smartphones or just dumbphones though. I still have one for a Nokia 3100 somewhere around here.

    Linux is perfectly fine for the desktop. It's the desktop that isn't ready for Linux.

    I would say its the desktop users that are not ready, because the desktop hardware is ready.

    Could it be too much to ask, that this bus conform to an openly-specified standard, e.g., Wishbone?

    If it was a well known standard it would probably be known by the Air Force's enemies and they could use it against them. It would be nice to not reinvent the wheel, but I don't think the military puts that thought very high.

    Get any sort of decent battery life out of a mesh network with no towers while still maintaining access to the PSTN and emergency services.

    If it isn't a "public" phone system but was more like a large voip network they might be able to find loopholes.

    It doesn't state how soon they have to tell you, and typically it is only used for suspects highly likely to leave town.
