Okay so make a Muslim take off there turban or a jew take off there yarmulkah. That would never happen to them, so why does this guy have to take off his strainer. He has every right to wear it on his head.
She was perfectly right in blocking the TSA in searching the kid. Have it walk through a metal detector fine, but what the hell does a kid need a pat down for, is it smuggling candy or a cabbage patch doll.
It's bad when Coop students can point out these issue, Years ago Rim had an all star product but even the SNES at one point was an all star product. Time for a new direction.
My college does NOT support Linux. They go out of there way to not support Linux, all college wide software is Windows or Mac only. All lab computers are Windows / Mac only. If you ever have IT Problems and you say your running Linux they wont offer support and the email system at the college completely fails when you run it on Linux. in short Conestoga College has gone to great lengths to not support Linux and make sure they ever Linux user will have a near impossible time using there system.
The only thing that lack of support for Linux shows about an IT department is lack of knowledge.
With out a doubt the problem is the lack of education present in the teachers. In grade 8 I outpaced my teachers at least 10 to 1 in computer knowledge, probably 20 to 1 in fact. When we had a project to design a game for science class I used C and programmed a TUI based game. Before even starting I asked 3 different ways if the C code would work on the computer and if I had a compiler, after being told yes 3 times I went ahead and 2 weeks laster brought my project in and surprise I couldn't compile or run it.
My teacher then looked at me and said "How do you expect me mark this, it's code" , I told her "Well being I'm a student and your the teacher and you should know more then me I don't know". Needless to say she was pissed at me. About one week later the other grade 8 teacher asked me if it was possible to save an image from the Internet to her computer. They also had never heard of Linux and didn't know how a simple network worked. They knew the cable had to be plugged in but then a magical address appeared.
The reason so many kids weren't taking programming is because the teacher that are / were bringing up kids in the school have the level of intelligence of most preschool students. They READ the textbook to you, because they don't know the information. They READ the bible to you because they don't know the content, they COPY tests from a teachers manual and they MARK based on a defined set of instructions. The modern teacher is no more advanced then a punch card and a tape server.
What we really need is qualified teachers in the school system. Programming should be moved to elementary school, now it could be there now, I don't know to be fair. At least start with something like BASIC in grade 6 and then very very slowly introduce simple C by grade 8, no harm done if the students don't like it they can move on. For the students that are interested they now can carry it forward, after all they teach Shakespeare in elementary school and how is that any more valuable?
the click keyboard was a horrible invention, it's loud, it's big and it's just not a good buy anymore. Why do I need to hear my self type or annoy my roommates!
The playbook has a web browser and there for access to email. I have no idea what your talking about here. Connecting your blackberry to the playbook allows you to sync from your BES or BIS into the playbook. All you've managed to prove is either you haven't seen a playbook or your a complete idiot and missed the big browser button in the ribbon.
Just because user's want the "User Experience" doesn't mean it's the right thing to look for. I'm very happy that you like so many people on this site can't read, it's amazing, literally amazing how many people just don't read.
feel free to blame it on "Apple marketing", "iSheep", and "the Reality Distortion Field"
Please point out where I ever said that! Of course you can so moving on something to reliant.
I have used an iPad and I have never wanted to get rid of a product faster. Apples UI or UX is so poor it's unmatched. Completely based on my own experience the Apple OS / UI design is just a complete pile of crap. I'd rather just have a terminal and select my own UI to run and leave it at that. Thats not everyone and that might no work for anyone else but me. The UI is only what the user interacts with, at least the Playbook has a functional UI unlike the iPad which has a lot of work before it becomes even 1/2 decent. Again that's me and I don't expect anyone else to follow that line of thinking, just the smart ones.
Then the average user can learn to read stats, I'm a nerd to and when someone ask for my opinion I tell them to look at the stats and then they can tell what to buy. By what your saying the average user should buy what there told to buy, that is the wrong idea altogether. Because users want to be blind to the real information doesn't mean they shouldn't understand it.
The product launch means nothing, the product quality means everything. Okay so the launch might not of gone well but over all the playbook is a better product then any tablet on the market. The launch is a small part of the product life cycle, What matters with how the device operates and stat for stat the playbook smokes the ipad hands down:

Okay so the launch went bad, but point out where the iPad in anyway even contends with the playbook, the playbook will sell itself from being a much better product. The stats are there.
Now I don't fully understand this case, but if the "flagship" product word is in trouble, does it really matter? There are MUCH better office solutions out there and there free. Microsoft office is a great product if you want to waste money and get a bulky program. When I need an office program it's time for Open Office or Libre Office, both of which not only out perform Word but do a better job as a word processor.
Does anyone really think that DRM is a good idea? From the company standpoint it is, protect your assets, for the customer it's not because it limits access to the assets you bought.
DRM Quote from Wiki
DRM technologies have enabled publishers to enforce access policies that not only disallow copyright infringements, but also prevent lawful fair use of copyrighted works
Just like the quote, DRM prevents fair and lawful use of copyrighted work, meaning the end user gets screwed all to make a dollar.
I know this isn't the case for all universities but in my class you can have your graphing calculator with you and when it's armed with a CAS such as the TI-89 then it's a great companion during tests, I could never bring a netbook in. As for them being slow, not really! I mean whats slow in comparison, doing a bode plot by hand or having the calculator spit one out, Solving multiple linear multi variable equations in state space, or having your calculator spit it. There not really that slow, in fact there pretty fast and there a huge help when you don't want to spend a hour to solve a questions your calculator could do in under a minute.
Why do we need these acronyms in the dictionary. It's actually sad that lol and omg are in the dictionary, there not words, there expressions that have become to common in day to day speech. How about we reserve the dictionary for proper words and leave these acronyms to cyber space. Besides the point that any one who uses the word l33t sounds like a complete idiot and wont be taken seriously.

Didn't the military create the net, shouldn't they be leading it?
This is why you don't use wep!!!! Anyone stupid enough to enable wep is just as at fault as the hacker.
It's bad when Coop students can point out these issue, Years ago Rim had an all star product but even the SNES at one point was an all star product. Time for a new direction.
Time for Microsoft to screw up yet another good software product.
Are you kidding me!!! I don't care if it's safe or not I'm not eating a shit burger. WOW, another failure for the Jap's.

Okay so I guess then I can order that no one should say my name at all. The new punishment is death.

Then I'll just order my stuff from a company who run's Linux. At least then my order wont crash from a blue screen.
Stepping down is only a big deal when it's critical you wont cause a step down. I don't see the game boy running a lot of critical systems out there.
Again, 4.5 isn't ideal but it's completely horrible, hence it's not a big deal
I never said it wasn't a down step, I said it wasn't a big deal.
