    The weight is a problem, and the screen is perfect size, but you might be right that the resolution if you use the greyscale mode, but I wil have to try to be sure it's enough..

    Wikimedia is investigating WYSIWYG editting, and I think their conclusion was that "Yeah it works, but you can't mix it with text edits". There is something special about mediawiki text and Latex, which many current contributors like.

    1 second per page that makes 6 minutes per book, if you only want the images then you can do it faster. Flipping by hand, and not using glas to straigthen the pages, I've got as low as 0.4s per page and 0.9s/p on average for two books. (that's 6 minutes for 400 pages, though you don't want to do more than 200-270 pages without one of these scanners)

    Actually javascript is an order of a magnitude slower than C, but it is friggin fast nowdays.

    Remember to tunnel the DNS requests over the SSH connection as well, in firefox after setting up Socks5 proxy goto about:config. Change this to true: network.proxy.socks_remote_dns

    But you had 8MB of ram that's a different story, he has 28MB of ram that's enough for Linux. I ran X with 24MB but didn't have HD space to have X and kernel sources at the same time so no X for me.

    Yes it's sad that we have to discuss this, it's pretty obvious they are facilitating and they are tools for denying that it made them look like idiots in the court. Sigh. But I'm more worried about what the court decided, according to wikipedia "The sentence is the longest ever awarded under Swedish copyright law" and that's for facilitating.

    But the iPhone is the more popular product, it's just too damn expensive. The interesting thing is smartphone market share, which I'm guessing Nokia wins anyways but not by the same margin.

    Yes, but why don't you start one if you have "service provider immunity". What I mean is that the same kind of law exists in Sweden, but it didn't help TPB even though it seems very similar to this.

    Hmm perhaps one should have a shell that let you do things like this: /proc/cpuinfo|less.. Because it's a lots better to have the static info on the start of the line and easily being able to change the command later, e.g. sed/grep what ever.

    It wasn't all clear that The Pirate Bay would be sentenced, I'm guessing because of something similar to section 230 immunity (what ever that is). And since TPB got sentenced I suppose it's the phase of the moon that decides the outcome of these cases (and the mafia).

    Apple bad, Nokia good when we are talking about mobil phones. Nokias N900 has great Linux Comunity, and they are writing a Free cell phone communication stack ofono.

    It takes ~110ms for my voip packets to reach South America, and I've not noticed much of a problem. Sure you get a bad connection sometimes but I've always blamed that on jitter/congestion. Are you sure those values are correct?
