    Maybe I'm not asking a lot from OS X 10.2, but I have no issues joining our network as long as I'm willing to:
    1. type big long SMB connection strings (Apple-K, then smb://WORKGROUP;user@host.domain/volume)
    2. don't mind having .nsmbrc on my home directory with stuff like this:
      [host.domain:user:*]
      password=password
      workgroup =WORKGROUP
    3. don't mind not being able to print a darn thing.
    I can browse the domain more or less (less than more). It's a real joy compared to 10.1.

    Gawd, what hardware are you running? My TiBook 667MHz seems miles faster than my Wintel 1.4GHz when it comes to resizing a window and a lot of other things.

    But you're right. With emulation, performance always drops off. But I'd still kinda like to see that.

    I couldn't care less about Java 1.4. I'd rather see some kind of J2EE, and 1.3 J2EE would be fine with me. It'd also be nice to install multiple versions of Java, but the MRJ specifications hands down don't support it.

    I know there's nothing in the sun specifications that forces license holders like Apple to implement J2EE and multiple installs for their platforms, but as a developer, lack of such is a real problem.

    Yes, I'm sure that this woman wants nothing more than to be felt sorry for. Lighten up. As sick as the Onion gets, it's not as bad as the people who's brains are so diseased that they can't t even ake a joke.

    Hawking has already received the International Science League award for his invention, as well as a prestigious chair at the Helsinki Cybernetics Institute. He is also widely regarded as the favorite to win this year's Nobel Prize For Physics, and he recently received an honorary key to New York from Mayor Rudolph Giuliani after saving the city from the Galactons.

    I'm surprised the AC didn't mention 9/11.

    I wouldn't want to encrypt everything. But I wouldn't mind if everything was cryptographically signed. I mean EVERYTHING. Including email traffic because then spammers could be traced better. Then you could filter on a CA or lack there of.

    If I could memorize how to circumvent duct tape then explain to someone how to circumvent duct tape, am I breaking the law? Remember this is information we're talking about. 2600 is fighting for free speach. At least, that's the defence they've chosen. The fact that a business model has been based on is is not the issue.
