Oh come on! What would you do if you wanted to make money out of a game? I like Linux as much as the next guy but I understand that the market for Linux games is just too small, especially for games like this that are bought by a much smaller number of people than shoot-em-up games. Same holds for Apple of course.
I don't know how the money side of playing online is taken care of. I can imagine that a monthly fee is the easiest way to pay for playing online but a fixed price per minute seems more fair to me because when you have a very busy month and not much time to play you 'throw money away'. And playing online is not like a magazine that can be put away to be read later. O, I must add: this looks to me like a very cool game and a worthy sequel to Excile.

I read about artificial brains in a book somewhere. To be able to make an artificial brain we first need to know how to make a lot of positrons, and how to keep those away from electrons. Then we can make a brain.
The head 'Any reason to buy Microsoft' made me curious. Are there companies even rich enough to buy Microsoft? And if so, I can think of many reasons why whey would want that...
My roommate always tells me never to turn the steering wheel when the car is not moving. It's very bad for the tyres and the steering mechanism he says. Then I ask him if he ever parked a car in Utrecht or Amsterdam (two busy cities in Holland). No, he has never done that. I don't know about you but I can't park a car in a tight spot without steering while the car is not moving.
This is proof of what I always suspected: they are trading prisoners of war and civilians for alien technology. There was talk of this stuff since they found some of it in the Roswell space craft!
Most sceptics I know don't have a scientific approach to these problems. For instance they say that aliens don't exist because it's never proven they exist. That is of course a crappy argument. I also feel that some/many people don't want to admit they don't have answers to all questions. Like it's a defeat to admit you don't know something.
If this isn't momopoly abuse I don't know what is. For America I fear there is no hope since the outcome of The Trial, but I keep hoping (maybe naively) that the EC will ban this before it gets on the market.
It was meant as a joke. But maybe you can make a weapon with which you can expode a sun. Shouldn't be too hard considering the sun is one giant atomic bomb anyway...
Come on. The Germans started the war. And therefore they are now more sensitive to this type of 'entertainment' than other European countries, because they have experience... And, like a former poster, I really can't understand people that find sex/porn more revolting than violence. Both are for adults only but the latter can certainly do more damage to people than the former.

They killed Tex Murphy. I hope against all odds that they come back on that decision.

Exactly. In the words of a friend of mine: then it shouldn't have become a car!
Good point! Why not ban sex too because when people are allowed to have sex new terrorists are bound to be born.

Well, I thought I was a pretty thorough /. reader but I guess I still have to learn... Thanks for the info!
Try Google.
Sorry for the Dutch, but you get the links anyway.
It hunts penguins! Let's be afraid...
For some reason about:kitchensink doesn't work for me in Mozilla 1.3. Hopefully it works in this version.
Time to post that 'Evil bit' article again!
Yes because maybe they do exist. You can't prove that something doesn't exist.
In Holland you have to pay BUMA-STEMRA if you let your employees listen to music, even if you are a non-profit organisation.
By the way, the link doesn't work. Try this.

Simple. They tell them it's better than the rambling old good-for-nothing software they are using now. Works all the time.

Can you make the material transparent at the flick of a switch?
So it's sort of a H-bomb. Still an atomic bomb in my book. But maybe I'm wrong.

That's an alien war where one race destroyed the others' solar system.
