Robotech was quite good, despite your anime purist opinions.
It's listed as the #5 best cartoon of all time by Animation Magazine. Several mainstream pubs such as Time and the LA Herald wrote glowing articles about it.
Why do kids nowadays think that anime has to be in its original form to be good? Robotech was a very well done epic in its own right.
Mandatory laptops is a bad policy all around, and is used as a fund-raiser and a way to offload work from professors.
At my friend's med school, they instituted a mandatory laptop policy. Lucky for my friend, it only applies to students who are enrolling after my friend's year.
Students get to pay $1000 a year for a 600mhz laptop, for 4 years. After the 4 years is up, they have the option to pay another $200 and keep the laptop. The upside is that during the 4 years, if the school decides to upgrade the laptops, the students get upgraded to a newer, faster, laptop for free. Also, they get tech support with the $1000/year.
$4200 is too damn much for a laptop.
The medical school is trying to raise money for expansion. Instead of taking it out of tuition money, they decide on this laptop policy to raise funds.
They're also trying to move the lessons online, so that profs don't have to tire themselves out with the students as much.
WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING? Do you want a doctor who learned his stuff in an online course?
As long as he's using original artwork, he's okay. If he downloaded artwork from Linux.com and used it on his site, then he'd possibly be in trouble.
As far as layout goes, there's nothing you can really do about it
Meader's well known in the mac community for pulling BS out of his butt about almost anything. Not just posting unfounded rumors, but making them up himself. I am very suspicious about whether Apple really did tell Meader to pull the story or if he just made that up to stir up some controversy.
They have very peculiar demographics and an even stranger culture. Their population reproduces very quickly, but this is to balance out the devastating effects of their cultural tradition. You see, once every few weeks the many of the Seamen go swimming across the Fallopian Channel in a massive exodus, lured by native myths about making it to a "promised land." Only one of the Seamen ever makes it across the Fallopian Channel alive, and the rest all drown.
The Seamen reproduce quickly, and this cycle of death continues again.
A Microsoft supporter acknowledges some faults of Microsoft and he gets chewed out for that. He is even called a dumbass for that. I think this says a lot more about the anonymous coward than it does about Zagato.
Let's keep Slashdot a little more open minded than that.
That's a little off. Of course all 3D games have T&L, but I'm asking about hardware T&L support, which most games don't have. Somebody who knows for sure if Quake3 supports hardware T&L on the GeForce, please chime in.
I'm curious... does Quake3 support hardware T&L? I thought only a short list of games did, and that Q3A wasn't one of them. Thresh's review mentioned that GeForce's hardware T&L was boosting framerates in Q3A...
There's no more important set of benchmarks than the holy 3D Game Benchmarks!
For what?

Overclocking had to do with winding up something!
Now that I think about what happened to John Henson once he moved to ABC, I think you may be right.
Was it written by Bob Saget? Damn, that was incredibly lame.
Being a martyr involves getting killed.
See, Sega didn't give them stock options, they gave them stop options

It'll be called Office 2003 for Linux. In the game, you get to "kill" the office assistant.
Break out the snowblower, Satan! There's a blizzard a'comin!
All we need now are flying cars. Where are my flying cars?
C'mon guys. This is like predicting that people will be older in 6 months

The native inhabitants of Sealand are the Seamen.

Maybe that has to do with the "IGN" logo in the bottom right.
It was a joke.
Then why did you tell me everything you learned about Itaniums? =D
Oh whoops, was I supposed to keep that a secret too?
Haha, are you still running your monitor at 60hz? :)
As long as they've notified you upfront that they're logging your keystrokes, they're within the bounds of the law.
Yes, we've seen this about a year and a half ago, I think it was. Back when Furby was actually in the news.
