For many people, driving is the one time they have an excuse to not respond to their phone. Its a time where they can just turn on some music and even shut down conversation from other passengers. It is a purposeful time they are required to be entirely selfish and alone. I don't think many of them realize how much they like this but deep down they know they will lose this excuse when they get a self-driving car. I think what many people enjoy about driving is that it requires their attention over all else and that is the unspoken reason why they would rather drive then have a computer do it for them more safely.
I guess an analogy would be that every user of a credit card doesn't have to have a complete understanding of every technical component related to a transaction, but still has a relatively high level of assurance of the integrity of the card and its employment for purposes of payment.
Bad example. Credit cards are easy to use incorrectly. In fact, they are designed to be used insecurely. When you use a credit card online, you are giving full information to the merchant on how it can be used again to make fraudulent purchases. I mean you give them your name, address, card number and CVV code, this is exactly what you need to commit fraud. So credit cards are designed to make fraud easy, even when the owner of the card uses it as it was designed.
And also, facebook is saying this historic photo would never be seen if it was shot and posted today. We live in a censored time, where history will simply disappear because some aspect of the memory of it offends someone.
Even if he is pardoned, he'll forever live under a microscope (government holds grudges better than anyone I know) and will have difficulties in finding employment.
You don't buy them to save money. You buy them to help change the world.
Well that and... they are really cool silent vehicles. And you don't stink like gasoline or stand outside your car in the cold and rain while filling it.
Never forget: gasoline is a pretty gross liquid and isn't fun on your skin and clothes.
Of course we, the honest citizens have nothing to worry about from software like this.
People who believe that monitoring occurs in the manner shown in this video are the same people who think we have nothing to worry about regarding mass surveillance. Those who are aware are concerned about something else. This is not how we lose our freedoms on mass.
First all the people who think their lives are so important that people will be lining up to spy on their mundane existence need to get over themselves.
People who think the desire for privacy is vanity are the people with little forethought and are prime for their property to be stolen by thieves and fraudsters.
Why would you want a bunch of apps pretending to support financial operations in pretend currencies on your phone? Even the edging-towards-legit bitcoin is a security and support nightmare.
You summarize exactly why I don't like the iphone concept. I do not want my manufacturer deciding what is and isn't interesting software to put on my phone.
You said it yourself, that the software is probably not popular. And then use that as a justification for your manufacturer to actively reject software from 3rd parties for a small segment of users. And then act like it a plus to have the manufacturer of your device to determine what is or is not important for you to run on it.
You go ahead and keep your device that only runs products that are approved to be popular and approved to be the ones you must want. And you go ahead and convince yourself that you are better off that way.
don't stick an unknown usb drive into your computer.
Don't even charge your phone using a rented USB port. In fact, never charge your phone on any data USB port, not even from your own computer. Use a wall power charger. Why risk the integrity of your trusted home computer by plugging in an uncontrolled device like the modern mobile phone?
Am I the only one who finds this worse than using a double negative?
"all but sudden"? So every other possibility but sudden? Does that include immediate or instantaneous? Am I the only one here who wasn't sure on first reading whether the crash was quick or slow?
Yes! I can see this being a defining feature for which browser I choose to use in the future.
Forget about ad-ons. This should be a native feature and it should be set to mute by default. In fact, I would go for 'click to play' on all video sources.
I do not want my browser to be a TV. And if it is a TV, then I should have to do something to make it operate that way. Please Firefox: let me tell you when I want media to play.
For me: This is bothering me more and more, where I bring up multiple news tabs on a subject that interests me and about 1 minute later, one of them starts blasting audio/video and I don't know which one. And sometimes it is advertising. And often it consumes resources and slows down my operation of other windows. It makes me consider going back to pure text based browsing.

If I flash the phone with Cyanogen will this still be possible?
Can someone who knows answer this question? I want to know too.

There are two types of people in this world:
1. Those who want to be watched all the time, because they think it is safer.
2. Those who want to left alone, because they think it is safer.
IMO, history shows that those in group #2 are correct and those in group #1 are incorrect most of the time. These politicians are in group #1.

How does anyone even find out they are on a takedown list?
Is there a public source for searching these DMCA requests?

Just like Nelson Mandela or Gandhi
Koalas aren't good eating - they're toxic because they're full of eucalyptus oil.
Home remedy: Put them in a vice and squeeze a few drops into some tea to alleviate cold and flu symptoms.
...if you try to feed them eucalyptus leaves (their primary diet) on a platter, they won't eat them because they don't understand it as food if they don't pick it from a tree.
Will they eat plastic leaves if you put them in a fake eucalyptus tree?

Ditto. Been using black electrical tape for years, but never thought to release a news report about it.
...you're still going to need: 8 Power Supplies 8 SD cards 8 HDMI cables
You can buy a single wall plug with 4 USB charging plugs to run 4 Pi's at the same time for about $20 + 4 cheap USB adapter cables.
The latest Raspberry Pi's come with wifi built in.
You can run this setup very cheap and SSH to these boxes. It works. I do it and you can too.

There is an obvious direction. We call it "time".
First all the people who think their lives are so important that people will be lining up to spy on their mundane existence need to get over themselves.

This is just basic security.
This reminds me of when Pee-wee Herman fell off his bike and then got up and said: "I meant to do that"
Why don't they just fork the blockchain to a time just before the fraudulent transfer occurred?
...when they lost the moral and legal arguments the government simply decided to break everyone's toys.
Calling it "toys" makes their acts seem less offensive.
Perhaps we could say: "...the government decided to break our property and damage our tools of employment and production."
Wouldn't that be nice for a change?
...the crash was all but sudden.

I can choose where I look, but I cannot choose what enters my ears. No matter how I twist and turn, audio invades my personal space.
