1 dB per connector? Egads, are you using bananna jacks? Properly assembled and torqued Type-N and SMA connectors shouldn't have more than a 0.1 dB of insertion loss.
That said, longer feedlines are hell on signals, especially on the recieve end. (Ever wonder why satellite receiver systems have an amplifier right in the feed horn?)
I've used SMA, Wiltron K, SMP (GPO) and a few others. More than a tenth means that the connector is hosed.
I want to be very careful about that, because OSRM is not capitalizing on FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt), OSRM is going around and talking about what the real risks and benefits are.
I was not trying to single you out; I just noticed yours first:)
As a birthday present I recently received a copy of Lynne Truss' Eats, Shoots and Leaves, a punctuation guide I found to be almost hysterically funny.
As engineers, programmers and other professionals that deal with the unforgiving literalism of computers and other modern technology, I am continually amazed at our inattentiveness to detial with regard to writing. Seems to me that we would pride ourselves on thoughtful, well-written and precise language.
Then again, we also are the ones that come up with jewels like "PC Load Letter" and these othermessages.
E-Bay has this great ability to avoid the fraud scandals that have hit their community. They always do a great job of getting the public to buy into the fact that they are just a marketplace, and nothing more. I am glad to see some changes coming in the AUTO's area though. It really doesn't suprise me, as the cars I'm sure make them a pretty penny in fee's.
Who is AUTO, and why does he have his own area? Make a pretty penny in fee's what?
Can anyone explain to me why a web browser would care about filesystems?
When will I be able to run Avalon on my Red Hat 9 machine?
Perhaps these guys would be better served by using Free systems for the functionality provided by XAML and Avalon. I happen to like the Mozilla system and Gnome works great for me.:)
It's not quite on-topic, but there's a local radio station that just this past month changed it's format: WSJZ is now known as "Pirate 95.9" in Central Florida. From this page:
WSJZ Sets Rock Sails As 'Pirate 95.9'
The Melbourne-based station dropped Smooth Jazz on April 1 to go Active Rock, and new PD Jim Callahan places the Premiere-syndicated Bob & Tom Show in mornings. Former WSJZ PD Sabrina stays on for middays, while Callahan will host afternoons, voicetrack nights and handle the station's imaging. WSJZ had been a Jones Satellite Network affiliate.
It shares offices with the other Cumulus stations in town, WHKR and WAOA. There must be some wholesale rebranding going on; WAOA's web site is just an "Under Construction" page, WSJZ doesn't have one at all. WHKR still has theirs, however.
Going on-topic, LPFM stations are often cited as a failed idea. Not sure how they did it, but WCEE is a LPFM station here. They definitely win on the "cool factor." They play stuff months before the big stations pick it up.
I've got an old copy of WordPerfect for Amiga. It's the last version they made. (4.1.12?). Got it in an envelope directly from WordPerfect corporation. Wonder if it has any upgrade value:)
The new Palms, like my Tungsten E, use the new Grafitti 2 system, not the superior Grafitti system. You can't end a word with the letter "l" that doesn't end a sentence (is followed by a space). You'll get a "t" instead. Infuriating.
And that's exactly what the MIT guy should have asked. The interviewer was completely unprepared, I think. On the whole, the interview was very disappointing.
"visa vi?" What's that? I think you meant, "vis-à-vis."
I know I ask a lot of Slashdotters, but the lingustic horrors seen daily around here leave me quite stunned. Nothing makes one sound more authoritative than good communication skills. Correct usage of the proper words makes any argument that much more convincing and bestows on the author an air of credibility.
The converse is also true: Incorrect useage of improper words makes any argument less convincing and subtracts from the author's credibility.
Now, on topic: Where in the world do you get off dismissing anything that PJ says in such a flip manner? Are you just new here, or have I just been trolled? PJ runs Groklaw, which is the target of a link in about every third Slashdot story lately.

(I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed my visit to France last spring. I just wish I could have stayed longer. Paris was beautiful, if a little hazy when we were there, and Versaille was utterly breathtaking. People were pleasant, too!)
Secondly, it had been previously noted that if was going to boycott things manufactured by companies that make things for the United States military, he's going to have trouble with just about everything imaginable for sale here. Gads, you people have no sense of humor...
I could not agree more. Where I live, there are limits on the number of beds a hostpital can have. What?
The problem in the United States with regard to medical care is lack of competition, not pricing. High prices and scarcity of product are just symptoms of a much larger, more fundamental problem.
It's a similar situation here in the States. Although I don't work for the United States Postal Service, those that I know that do are nice, hard-working people. I would estimates that 80% of our USPS mail is junk. At least the senders are paying the USPS to deliver it!
The poster means an hour a day, on average. The very next sentence says that watching three hours per day was linked to a 30% increase in the likelyhood of developing ADHD.
If you're stuck paying for your own broadband, can you write it off on your taxes like auto milage?
Ever heard of FTP? How about web hosting your anims somewhere and mailing your clients/contractors a link?

Owner's what can sell?
Does Taco even read his own page?
And now, 20 seconds of filler to get around the lameness filter. blah blah blah.
I'm writing this replay from a Moxula window... Whee!
The Revolutionaries here defeated the British for two major reasons: they had home field advantange and the patronage of the French Crown.

Maybe you could study how to use apostrophes properly?
I would, however like to commend you for your proper use of "their."
Could one not consider XAML just a re-implementation of the XML-based UI builder that the Mozilla guys developed?
:)
Can anyone explain to me why a web browser would care about filesystems?

I'm considering going back to G1 using these instructions.
While G2 might be better than selecting letters from a ten-button keypad, it's certianly a giant leap backwards from the original Grafitti.
And that's exactly what the MIT guy should have asked. The interviewer was completely unprepared, I think. On the whole, the interview was very disappointing.
Yeah you got me! I need to pruef reed a little better :) I never said writing properly and correctly was easy; I find it's extremely difficult!
:)
As far as the accented character, it's easy: I cut-and-paste the text from the dictionary.com page
"visa vi?" What's that? I think you meant, "vis-à-vis."

Does that mean he's going to drive a Peugeot or Renault? :)
Are French cars even sold in the States any more?

Is this a real shortage, or can we thank the Bush Steel Tarriff for this? Seriously, not trying to troll!
Because taxing something legitimizes it...
At least, that's what the pot-legalization crowd says.
Where's the +1:Funny for this guy? Mods not follow the Adequacy.org link? :)
