WSJ recently reported average base salary for Google engineers as $128K. You can finance the same lifestyle in Ann Arbor with $79K.

If climate scientists run a supercomputer in a room full of warming skeptics, does it give off any heat?
Explain that it's a morale issue, makes developers feel they're working on a solid foundation.
Ever work in a shop without enough bathrooms? Time gets wasted waiting in line or walking around the building looking for an open one.
Glad I don't have to track bathroom breaks, but a silver lining might be metrics in support of sufficient restrooms.
I'll worry about this in the morning.

Ann Arbor is a good place to start, its drivers are too preoccupied with their dissertations to watch the road...
