Good question, but I imagine not a whole lot would make it past the event horizon(s). There would be a bunch of energy released by the collision of the matter orbiting them though.
I had (okay, my dad had) an IBM PC and an Atari 2600. My son plays WoW and Wii. He also has all of my old Legos (I know, but I'll call them Legos anyway!) plus about the same amount again new. I had Robotix, he has Lego Mindstorms. I had Erector... Hmm, I guess I'll have to get him something like that.
Just match parts eh? Not booting up? Is your registry corrupted, or is your hard drive failing? Loose SATA cable? Need to adjust your memory timings? Etc. ad nausium.
Kudos to parent. I spent tons of time researching my last build. Unless you're building for a specific purpose and trying to push the envelope it's really not worth it for most people.
I fix my car and am working on designing a new one. I fix and modify my own house. And yes, I build my own computers. The average consumer doesn't build their own computer because an off the shelf $300-$500 jobber does what they want, so building their own isn't worth it.
I had this discussion last week on a different forum. We determined that the electromagnetic fields in the area that screw up their instruments would make it too difficult and expensive to harvest the superconductor from the floating mountains. Towing the mountains away wouldn't be an option either, because the force that keeps them from falling would also resist pulling them away; it's not anti-gravity it's electromagnetic suspension.
And what was in that water? FUCKING SHARKS WITH FUCKING LASERS! THAT'S WHAT!
Hmph. I guess I have to include some non-yelling to get through the filter.
The same researchers who developed Quantum Encryption have developed a possible way to snoop on it undetected, so in truth there are currently no perfectly secure communication methods in existence.
I have an artist living in my basement who's making parts 1-3 of this model work. She draws comics, puts them on the web for free, and her fans send her money of their own volition. She also has a policy that more money = more new pages, so sometimes people will send in several pages worth at a time.

After a while D&D combat just annoyed me. My thought was that if I hit the guy with an arrow, sword, dagger, or whatever, either it gets through the armor and kills or maims the guy or it doesn't. It doesn't take 5% of his life energy or whatever.
Arming someone who's normally unarmed and untrained just as they're entering a situation that may scare them is a bad idea. However, allowing CCL holders to carry their concealed pistols would be perfect. They're accustomed to being armed, they've proven themselves competent with the weapon, and they aren't openly displaying a threat. Anyone planning funny business wouldn't know who's carrying or how many, so it would be very difficult to negate that threat. The threat you don't know is more intimidating than the one you do know.
Nothing wrong with being a "truther", it just means you insist on thinking for yourself instead of being spoon fed. Beware of "straw man" arguments, they're quite common in the "anti-truther" crowd.

There's a big difference between speculation and measurable data.
That depends on your frame of reference.

Who would need more than 640K of memory anyway?

Yes, and yes. It's already happening, as courts have ordered the identities of anonymous posters revealed.
In theory there's no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is.

Too bad that just as we use up the Thorium we'll invent FTL, but find that it requires Thorium...
There's only so much pot smoke to go around...
Never go up against a Sicilian when death is on the line. Oh, and never get involved in a land war in Asia.

Sounds like SCA rules.
One of the two times I played paintball I got shot in the back by my own team. Unfortunately that's pretty realistic too.
Try L4D2 Realism Mode. I think they win.
Mod parent up.
Parent should not be modded flaimbait just because you disagree with him. It's on topic, relevant, and a valid opinion with supporting evidence.
