ok, we aren't freaking stupid here, and it seems like a deacent question if more than one person was thinking it. We know what FREE means but how are we, the users, going to get this FREE game. Are they going to show up at out house with the CD and pass it out to every one in our house hold, or are they going to release it though a client like Steam or just a click here for your free mechwarrior4 game!

Last time I went to Chucky Cheese, with a few friends (before they made the rule that u had to be over 18 and accompanied by childred). They had Mech warrior 3 (I believe it was that one) where u sat down in the chair, strapped in, and had 2 joy sticks. Also the chair raised up and moved accordingly to how u moved your mech and if u were dmged or not! It was pretty freakin sweet.
Wow, im sitting ay my Tech internship atm, and i have been looking up Asset#'s for the last 3 days now in the Active Directory. Im a senior at my college and have been around computers since i was five. I will be graduating with a major in Computer Tech/ Industrial Tech with a minor in business management. I have always wanted to be an aquatic archeologist(or something along those lines), like looking at sunken ships and stuff of that sort. But by reading this i believe after i graduate, settle down with a nice job, maybe a family maybe not, i will go back to college and get me a new degree. its funny how being bored at work has just changed the rest of my life. Doesn't censoring stuff from kids usually spark and even more interest in it? Because when i was growing up when ever i couldnt "do" or "see" something i have always wondered, "Why?". And then just got on the internet and found out for my self, and then got into toruble. Would i have gotten into trouble if my parents just told me in the first place?
p.s. I think we all know the answer to that.
o wow, I 100% agree with everything SLBaur said in reply to Endo13. I personally was a vanilla wow player with only touching all content except Naxx and I actually got to step foot into bwl. I played the shit out of D2/D2;exp.
I love a good story line but if the graphics are not very good im not enjoying the game. I.E. FFVII, i cant stand walking around when my pody parts are made up of blocks.
You ever try playing WoW? i was what they call a Pre-BC raider, or I started playing the First WoW game before the 2 expansions came out. When i hit 60 and got my "God like powers" it was fun. then the first expansion came out. I was lvl 60 and had to hit 70. My "God like powers" only helped me out so much. I still felt pretty helpless with it came to fighting new monsters that were my level or above. So all in all Blizzard did a nice job of making me feel like i needed to hit 70 inorder to gain my "God like powers" back. Same with the newest expansion.
So how will people edit maps and then test them? I mean i know there will be 3rd party ways to lan this but is Blizzard trying to prevent me from taking a map, editing it, then having a few friends over to test it out before putting it online? or will all this be done through bnet?
Im not here to write out a long paragraph about how video games dont or do promote violence in people. Im just here to state how I look at it and deal with it. Im 21, dont have any kids, yet, but when i do im just going to treat video games like I do movies. If the movie (i.e. the Saw series) is to violent for me i just dont watch it or if the video games seems to graphic for me I just dont play it, not that big of a deal. I believe that a big part of this is up to the parents to "monitor" what their kids play i dont mean stand over their shoulder every hour of every time the kids are playing video games. Maybe follow the ESRB ratings, they are there for a reason. If u think thats the ESRB rating is not correct dont complain about the game, thats ESRBs fault, bitch to them plz. Also i read earlier about the rating of the new WOW:WOTLK, and letting 14 year olds torture a man to get information out of him, you do realize that their are thousands of quests to do in that game and u dont have to do All of them or even half of them for that matter. And if u think that torturing that man is bad. Before you had to kill alot of his friends in order to get to him. So i guess killing his friends is not as bad as torturing that one man.
Im getting off topic here, all in all if u dont want your kids to play violent video games, then dont buy them. I just cant stand how people complain about violence in video games when it all comes down to the responsibility of the parents. So basically if you dont want your kids to see violent movies dont let them, and if you dont want them to play violent games, dont let them.

isnt most Online PC RPGs just pen and paper with a GUI?

Same here but it was with swords and bows rather than AK-47s. So a bit more manly imo.
