Does this mean that xgl will work properly on the latest ATI drivers? The last time I tried it was pretty much a no go unless you had an nvidia card....
I recommend Mondo Rescue for backing up linux boxes. Its fully GPL, supports backing up LVM, RAID, ext2, ext3, JFS, XFS, ReiserFS, VFAT files systems to tape, CD-R, CD-RW or NFS and you can restore from bare metal just like ghost.
apparently you havent seen the Red Hat Null beta. The slick package management, up2date, the consistant desktop. Mandrake doesnt come close. Mandrake's icon set is butt.
I really liked Mandrake 7.2 and 8.0. But recently I installed the Redhat 7.2 Beta and I'm really impressed..I'm not sure why everyone bitches about Redhat's quality going down hill(i guess judging by RH7.0). If you look at Mandrake 8.0, it was pretty shakey when it came out too....0 releases usually are.
I think the Redhat Network is a great idea when it comes to stuff like this...It will deliever patches to your machine for you...and you can monitor and schedules updates from a web interface...havent really used it yet, but it looks sweet.
Personally, I dont like my tax dollars going to machines of death. Id much prefer them spent on clean energy research, AIDS research, and other worthwhile causes...
I guess this goes to show what lobbying and vested interests do to government. How does this benefit the general public anyway?
Maybe Dubya should funnel some of that proposed stars wars money into something that benefits the knowledge of all humynkind NASA vs. a defense system that only benefits the weapons industry and holds onto cold war tactics. Guess NASA doesnt benefit the economy like a cold war...
Wow thinking like this is the reason SUVs are popular and there is a gas shortage.
I cant think of a well designed american car. American cars are either designed to show how small their owners brains are or how short their dicks are.
I have DSL service through Telocity...I picked them because of their slick external modem/router setup that works with all OSs that support DHCP. However the connection goes down once a month for 1-2 days...i've currently been without service for 5 days because of a router or DNS problem on their end...and the support is totally unacceptable...
Im setup through telocity, i believe they're nationwide. Its uses dhcp and they gave me a static ip. Works great for all the OS's i mess with. Time to make more partitions.:)
Lars needs to shut his mouth about their 'art'. Metallica hasn't created anything even close to art in 10 years. This is what happens when pop musicians hit their decline and aren't making as much money off their record sales anymore. They need to break up and come back in another 10 years to make some money when their music is being regurgitated as retro.

First rule of usenet is: Don't Talk About Usenet!
I was just eating lunch when this story came up...and lunch almost came up with it...nice timing...
Umm. This is Apple's business model.
They are the Gap of computing.
I must say i like Filezilla for FTP.
It does SFTP as well and is GPL.

I remember seeing a /. article saying Xine (xine.sf.net) can play Sorenson clips now...havent tried it yet though.
You could also use CrossOver which works great.
watch the percentage of Mozilla browsers skyrocket when AOL switches it software to Mozilla. There are millions of AOL users.
Will Loki be doing a port of this to linux? I was really looking forward to this game...
