Using a webkit browser is only logical, since the only non-webkit browser Apple have accepted is Opera Mini, and Opera isn't really a browser, it's just a front end that relays info to and from their server.
It doesn't seem like much of an ifiltration if all it does (by the sound of it) is allow you to open your Firefox bookmarks, etc in the native iPhone browser and provide a search bar that does the same thing.
Seemed to me like they were going to have their own webkit (since that's the only one Apple allow) browser built into the app, and it won't use the iPhone browser
An even better analogy would be "if you steal your own wallet back from a pickpocket, after the pickpocket has inserted some of his own money into it."
Hey, it's not catchy, but it's the correct analogy.
The screens are the same, bar the physical size (3.2" vs. and 3.7") and the resolution (320*480 vs. 480x800)
The Desire has a faster processor, and more RAM
At the time of writing, HTC Incredible was still only rumoured/just released. However, for all intents and purposes, the Desire and Incredible are the same, bar the soft buttons, 8GB on board memory and 8MP camera.
*sigh*
I hope Ubisoft have learnt a lesson from all of this, but sadly it seems like they are intent on alienating their customers.
I'd love to see this draconian DRM actually lowering sales for their new releases. DRM like this only hurts legitimate customers, and the "pirates" end up with a better game.
It's happened before with games like GTA IV where the securom DRM actually lowered the performance of the game, and sadly it will happen again.

How is this an antitrust goldmine? Apple doesn't sell the most phones and it doesn't sell the most dollars from phone sales. Your comment makes no sense.
Almost all smartphones use ARM processors. Nexus one, HTC desire, HTC incredible, Sony Ericson Xperia x10, iPhone, iPad etc, the list goes on. Even Nintendo DS and Nvidia's Tegra chip uses ARM processors. If Apple bought ARM, they'd have control over prices and royalties.

This will be an Antitrust goldmine. And people say Microsoft are evil. Urgh.
TV companies actually factor in how many people will skip the ads, or channel surf whilst they are on. TV channels have complex models which tell them if X number are watching, Y will likely see the ad. It's a medium based on potential and not provable results.
Comparing adverts on a website to TV is like comparing apples to asparagus.
Yeah.. But Google allow you to install applications from anywhere, so argument is flawed. Apple lock you down to their App store.
Opera not even bothering to port over their main mobile browser, along with Fennec/skyfire not doing so is proof enough.

Urgh. Your bastardisation of the English language hurts my eyes.
I'm an insensitive clod. I'm sorry :(
Best option. Build a NAS server

It was an awesome concept. Sad to see it go :(
Yes, it does the same thing as Opera.
It's not actually doing Flash video, it signals Skyfire's servers to fetch the video and transcode it from its original format to HTML 5 video. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20003714-1.html
Ads are sold on a per-view basis . More views = more ad revenue.

Apple is suing Googles allies, and is a rival to the Android platform.
^ that
Palm's implementation of multi-tasking is the best on any smartphone.
Google are fighting back!? Good.
