Well here in Texas, my kids have been going to lan parties for years. They are a blast, and 60 is not a big number. Your biggest problem will be power distribution.
Theft problems are pretty easy to monitor. Limit regular access to one entrance, but do not block off emergency exits.
We have had up to 20 people in our garage lans in the past. More than that will probably require that you rent someplace. Your local church, VFW, American Legion all rent out their halls, which has a nice side effect of having all the tables and chairs you will not have to rent, besides being insured.
To see some pictures and nice layout of the NOC for a lan party of 200 that happens every few months visit http://www.ghettolanparty.com/ They have a nice setup, network, power, and they are in and out fast. Setup takes about 2 hours and breakdown about 3, including cleanup.
While this is nice you just keep a fob for retrieving stuff remotely. Why not just get a 500G usb disk drive that works with all systems. Or even smaller laptop drive setup with usb?
I always thought the "autoroute" was a joke, but i guess it can get some work done. Nothing like experience to keep traces away from noisy signals.
Design programs are a great tool to those that already have hands on experience, the experiences helps avoid common mistakes. Such as tollerances in cad programs, bolts in places that keep you from assembling the piece.
Think this is like the rest of real life, start out with a pencil, and move up when you have some experience under the belt.
That is until the zone you or build a subdivision, while you have been doing it for years.
Looking at the other comments, they obviously didn't RTFA, he is a retired chemist, that means he has a degree in it, besides years of practice.
I agree with you that it would be nice if he had a nice house in the country to do his experimenting in, but remember he's retired, and may have a limited budget to work with, and is probably spending more on his work than the rest of his normal living expenses.
Now the idea of having a bunch of unlabeled (as in complete MSDS sheets on each one) per the "investigators" report, does not mean he did not know what was in every jar. I did not see any list of what he had, so I cant comment on proper containment of what he had. And it really is unfair to just judge on the limited info I read.
So those 200 gallon fuel tanks everybody has in the north, what about those! Hope the electric companies in MA decide that that is way to dangerous to have in a residential area!!! Hope the electric bill makes you more comfortable
", despite these efforts, someone trespasses on your property, the best thing to do is to call the sheriff and let them handle the trespasser. If for some reason you cannot have law enforcement intervene, Texas law (Section 9.41 of the Texas Penal Code) allows you to use "reasonable force" to protect your property. Reasonable force includes any force that is not potentially lethal. This would probably include physically blocking the trespasser's entry onto the land and perhaps even showing the trespasser that you have a gun and are prepared to use it if warranted. However, as discussed below, an actual discharge of a firearm, unless clearly not aimed anywhere towards the trespasser, may expose the land owner to unwanted scrutiny by law enforcement."
So if they were stealing something, ya you could shoot. But shooting somebody taking a film will land you in jail.
I did a quick bit of research. The laws that cover this vary quite a bit. The maximum fine I could find is 250$ and 15 days in jail. Which would be placed upon the people who actually trespassed.
Reading on the New York government website, the requirements also include size of signs required, spacing, and wording.
In addition, road and navigable waterways can be traversed, but as an example using a boat up a river on private property means you cant fish on it, but can travel on it.
So it probably would be safe to assume you can drive up a private drive, but cant hunt, or otherwise bother wildlife, animals, or any other thing while on the road. I do not think filming falls in this category.
In addition, from what I read, it would "appear" to be if you want a road not be traveled by people "other than persons on government assignments" to not be traveled on by the public, in addition to saying "Private Property" it must be marked "NO TRESPASS"
First IANAL, and the laws vary from state to state but here is my take, as being a hunter and running into these situations.
1. Private property sign if placed off the road, means you cant trespass off the road onto the fenced in land.
2. Driving up the above road is not illegal. Even if there is a sign that says "private drive" as long as there was no gate. If there was a gate, and you breached the gate to drive up the "private drive" then you would have trespassed.
3. Making a film of property marked private property is not illegal. Filming off a private drive that is not gated is not illegal.
Now that I said that, I think it would have been proper, to go ahead and go up to the house and ask them if it was ok, it would only have taken a minute. But the act of driving up the ungated road and filming while they were driving on it will not be found trespass.
Exactly, I purchased my Tom Tom at Christmas and low and behold they don't make them anymore. There are pros and cons to having separate devices, and a fully integrated one. Personally, looking at the system as a whole unit would seem to be more expensive than updating separate components. This would allow you also to purchase units more suited to the users needs. A truck driver's needs are different than the commuter, etc.
But yes, the method of communications from the devices can be anything from cat5, usb, bluetooth, ir or whatever. Including interfacing to the actual car via a diagnostic port.
Funny how short the cycle is between what companies think the useful life of equipment is and what I think it should be.
I have a tom tom, and love having gps when I travel. Being a technical astute person. What I would like to have is a system, with gps (1), music (mp3) (2) and radio control (software radio) (3), maybe cell phone control (4), all tied with wireless so when I pull up to my house I could sync all items, gps maps, music, os updates etc.
Now that I think of it, I guess just a nice little low power pc running of a 4 gig card with no hard drive to be the firewall and manage the wireless connections to the car and a little hub would allow everything that is existing to be tied together.
I work in Plano, and did not even know it was going on, to bad this post was not *BEFORE* the race started. I would have loved to see these, as I make processing equipment for a solar cell manufacture.
Biggest question is, did they allow you to use your own tools, or did they just let you use divining rods.
Sort of ignorant on their part, that they would expect you to keep security on one of the most critical networks in the world and not have proper tools.
Example: image the drive, make it read only, no execute and use tools like rkhunter, and many other programs to see what is running on the system under test.
To me, having a compromised machine on a military network would get it a instant pulled plug, and a backup brought into play, with major lockdowns on network communication. Considering you can let the genie out of the bottle and not put it back in, in a very short time.
Purchasing Open Source Tools that could automatically thwart these types of attacks is to expensive. They cost at least as much as a toilet seat, and we know from the news, that they have not been purchasing any toilet seats.
Until you stop voting in lawyers into office, you will see no changes. Lawyers are going to first take care of lawyers. In order to see any changes in the future, we have to vote in people who will support the people. So the way to start this is to vote in anybody who is not a lawyer.
Friend of mine said in Ohio that the crazy drug users would get the police officers to chase them on foot while their buds would steal the shotguns from their cars to sell.
These cameras will give a false sense of security to some, and total useless to victims other than to maybe prove something after the fact. "Ya he got the S*** beat out of him for sure" or "ya he got stabbed, and we cant tell who it is in that hoodie" There is no replacement for having security where its needed, and not where its not.

Daryl has of late said they will reap the benefits of the software they have recently put "10's" of millions of dollars into".
Instead, I believe they will reap what they have sown, but not to his vision.

Lets see, the fire was put out in 1 minute. So there was no chance the fire was reacting with the chemicals.
So they don't know whats in the jars, humm.. could have been 20 years of piss samples for all they know.
The next item to do is get a warrant, it would appear they didn't.
So those 200 gallon fuel tanks everybody has in the north, what about those! Hope the electric companies in MA decide that that is way to dangerous to have in a residential area!!! Hope the electric bill makes you more comfortable
You had to make me look, as I was quite surprised about that law. But here it is: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/criminal_law_enforcement/narcotics/narcprecursor.htm

Makes an excellent repellent against electronic insects. Millions of dollars against a 30$ part from the microwave you buy at wall mart.
