    Considering the face that the poster spelled the word "favorite" f-a-v-o-u-r-i-t-e, it is likely he isn't American.

    This makes me happy, but then again I think about the state of the schools that my American "race" goes to and think that conclusions based on spelling are suspect.

    What I remember was that the war started thru combination of misunderstanding, accident, and indeed some government agenda... but that the war continued simply because the Taurons simply could not communicate with a species of individuals. Only when humans evolved into a homgenous species "Man" could they talk with us and thus end the war.

    Several reasons were discovered during Plowshare.

    Obvious - lots of fallout. Radioactive spoil that could not be moved for years.

    Others not so obvious - the sides of the new canal would be crumbly. Constant radioactive silt buildup in the canal requiring an insane amount of dredging. Bedrock at the bottom of the canal would also be shattered and become very pourous. Need I go on?

    As far as disposal, simply put them on a box when they are done. Take to dump once a year (with the rest of the stuff you are tossing in the land fill). Dump box of used CFL's into container designated for them... letting the guys at the dump toss them in the land fill.

    Would a contemporary worm actually work on Windows 95? I can't see a worn author supporting anything earlier than NT 4. But maybe they have better tech support than most software companies. ;) (Actually they probably do!)

    I have about 2 gigs in 72 pin SIMM memory of various variety. Some 30 pin too. what do you need that you can't find on ebay? Hell I'll send it to you for free assuming US or Canada. It is taking up space on my shelf, and throwing it away would be a waste.

    Damn thing did 9 tax retuns. A power spike killed it - ran in wall power the entire time.

    It wasn't the fastest rig, but it was fine for stuff like taxes email, and some nondemanding games of the day.

    Built it myself. Asus. Celeron 400. Several drives over the years.

    Who really cares about what the atheists think?
