Yepp. I also think that words, by themselves, don't have any meaning at all. In Slashdot terms, the world is like the following code:
something_evil();
do_something();
They're trying to ban the "something_evil()" string because it causes their system to crash. What happens if we rename "something_evil()" into "something_euphemistic()?" What if someone uses the name "something_evil()" for appropriate purposes? The fix is useless. The correct fix is to fix the programmer.
In other words, they need to ask themselves why teenagers feel the need to rebel against authorities. Is it because they are emotionally maladjusted? Why? Is it because of the stressful changes in economy and breakdown of social institutions? If so, then they need to fix that instead.
What the frak? It's not a frakking waste of time, you mentally special and different-abled, person! Oh gods, don't you realize that this will protect the children?
How I love the way they devoted one page for each paragraph! It feels so great to be forced to browse through all 41 pages just to read the entire article. The site is so user-friendly, that a print version is nowhere to be found.
More and more projects are starting to drop support for v10.4. I don't want to switch to Leopard because Tiger works fine. I feel that spending my money on an upgrade is just not worth it. When the time comes that the majority of Mac OS X apps would no longer work on v10.4, I'll just reformat my MacBook and replace its OS with FreeBSD.
If he asked politely and made it clear that he won't be getting something from nothing, I'll just send him a demo phone with a nice accompanying letter that tells him that our company appreciates an OS that would make our applications run optimally if they could provide us with this and that features.
I know this is Slashdot, but how much does a demo phone cost? How much could we benefit from a partnership? Do all commercial partnerships need to have the same principles, or do they just need to mutually agree on things that would benefit them both?
I'd rather not let my subconscious have free reign over the outside world. We have violent tendencies that are kept in check by our rational, conscious thoughts.
You're quite honestly compensating for your insecurities by calling people idiot instead of debating the relevant issue. Being at peace with oneself allows one to have projects that are within your capabilities.
If life gives you lemons, don't try to overcompensate by making orange juice. The best thing to do is to make lemonade.
Then again, you can always squeeze them in someone's eyes...
It is very sad that you're essentially handicapping yourself by having the need to prove something. You feel offended by people that believe that it's more worthwhile and satisfying to accept yourself as you are, instead of pretending that your limitations would magically disappear by performing seemingly impossible feats. To be at peace with one's self is a far more effective way of coping for one's disabilities instead of overcompensating.
Sure, go ahead and climb Mt. Everest on a wheelchair! The fact is still there that you're an amputee. Don't sue people for making mountain climbing so difficult!
You can lie to yourself that you can adapt and have the "gumption to try and make things better", and attempt to make yourself feel superior by calling realistic people as sheep. Sometimes we just have to realize that physical limitations are real; don't force yourself into something that you're not. There are always alternative activities aside from computer games.
Instead of suing and getting angry at the world, this guy should just have the serenity to accept the things that he can't change and move on with his life. This is the way the world works, and we can't do anything about it...
Never mind. My best friend Google tells me that this has already been done.
Seriously, this is interesting. You guys should make an April 1 RFC. Someone is bound to implement this, like what happened to IP over Avian Carriers.
What the hell has happend to us as a country?
The terrorists have won.
He's ranting because he can't do a Triforce.
Theo is crazy as well, but I really don't mind them fighting each other because I can relate to crazy people. It's like looking into a mirror.
You can read a more informative article on Slashdot moderation here.
Regarding Flex, I was hoping for an open standard.
You might want to look into OpenLaszlo.

Insightfully funny.
Commenting to remove my "informative" moderation. It looks like the correct project is Enano CMS.

Do your female officemates have questionable work ethics as well? If so, then you're in good company!
Doom is so 90s. It's Half-Life, I tell you. The Combine is coming for all of us!
