I guess you have never been victim of libel on the internet. I see no difference between publishing false statement that are damaging to a person's reputation in a newspaper or on the internet; they are both libel. Why do you think posts on the internet should be exempt?
Calories aren't the issue these days, it's crap carb calories. Low income = obese in America these days.
Calories are not proper nutrition. For that you need protein, vitamins and minerals.
The rest shows how privileged you actually were. You were allowed to go outside and play with friends of your choice. You were allowed access to things like sticks, cans, matches and shovels. In these institutes most kids were kept indoors and forced to stay quiet and not cause issues. Your life was very different than institutional life.
I just know it irritates the hell out of me to be in a restaurant and watch a small child trying hard, and failing, to compete with it's mother's phone for attention.
There are two sides to every story. While you did see the child competing for attention you didn't see the child to exactly the same thing for the previous four hours. Sometime children need to learn to amuse themselves while parents do other things. For all you know the parent is setting up a play date for the child.
While human contact is very important in child development there might also be a least a couple or other contributing factors. Here are a few of possibilities; 1. Lack of proper nutrition. If the body is spending all it's food surviving there is little left to grow. It is well known thet the brain takes a lot of nutrition to grow. 2. Lack of exercise. If you don't use the motor parts of the brain they may not grow. 3. Lack of stimulating toys. 4. Lack of stimulating play. There may be more or it may be all of the above. The study does not isolate any of these factors so there is no way to know which one is important. This looks like yet another study to prove a theory rather than test the theory.
It is just an example of how vague the Constitution actually is and how, by quoting specific parts, a lot of opposing views can be seen as Constitutional.
Wow, you can't even read the article to get your facts correct;
Methane is an extremely potent heat-trapping gas; while it has a much shorter life cycle than fellow global warming culprit carbon dioxide, some estimates put it on the order of being 80 times more powerful.
Do the math.
I will do the math..59* 80 = 47.2 which is 0.16% of 29,000.
The United States, which 42 percent of respondents listed as their top potential work destination, followed by the U.K. (37 percent), Canada (35 percent), Germany (33 percent), Switzerland (29 percent), and France (29 percent).
The numbers are the percentage of respondents willing to move to that specific country and not their "top potential work destination". A respondent can be willing to move to more than one country which is why the numbers add up to more than 100%.
The United States is the destination with the highest appeal to foreign workers. Of all respondents, 42 percent say the U.S. is one of the places they would consider moving to. (See Exhibit 5.) The U.S. maintains its appeal among workers in many impoverished nations, including Nigeria, Ghana, Nicaragua, and Honduras. Sixty percent or more of respondents from those nations say the U.S. is a place they would move to for work. The UK and Canada get the next highest declarations of interest from survey participants: 37 percent and 35 percent, respectively. The UK, Canada, and the U.S. are all in the top ten in terms of nominal GDP, per capita GDP, or both. They all also benefit from being largely English-speaking at a time when English is the most frequently taught second language.
It depends on how you look at it. You see it as the side being "cut away". I see it as the side ending where the "cutout begins". The entire complex curved line is the end. So in my view there are three straight sides and one curved side.
only one edge of the screen needs to be a straight line
Take a look at the examples on this page. Notice that three sides are straight. Only one side has any variation. Could it be that the drivers for one axis must be at the edge?
I find it interesting that the article mentions three kind of distraction; cognitive distraction, visual distraction and physical distraction yet only measures cognitive distraction. I would think that the sum of all three distraction modes would be the definitive indicator as to what whether hand held or hands free is better. For example, I bet hand held has much higher visual and physical distraction numbers than hands free.
Yet another study to prove a theory rather than do a complete test.
Has there ever been a study on why men leave the tech industry? I bet many have and for reasons similar to why women leave the tech industry. Looking at one side of the industry creates a slanted view of the situation.
I'd think it's pretty clear that Musk is motivated by other things than money.
One motivation might be fame. Even if that fame is being the man who caused billions of dollars to be wasted and caused the economic collapse of earth.
Remember this is the man who also proposes the Hyperloop. Just because he has some good ideas does not mean all his ideas are good.
The probability of which is less that that of a world killing asteroid hitting the earth tomorrow. There are a lot of "ifs" that can be speculated about but almost impossible one like that don't need to be advertise. Your scare tactics propably won't cause a panic in the type of people who read this site. They are generally more intelligent and scientifically minded for that.
Those new market trends will not compensate for the fact that their base market is unprofitable.
Kind of like how some natural gas companies offer appliance maintenance.
That makes it easier to for consumers to use gas equipment and therefore increases use of natural gas and increases overall sales. Installing more PVs would decrease the sales of conventional power companies and therefore be a determent to the bottom line.
Solar city still uses conventional grid when solar panels do not provide enough electricity. All they are is an installation and maintenance company for conventional net zero solar panels.
Has anyone seen the list of required apps? Are the apps on the list required to run the phone? Is this story a knee jerk reaction to incomplete information? Is this story click bait so people will sign up to theinformation.com?
It depends on what the apps are. For example, the text message interface may be counted as one of the 20 "apps" but it is a requirement for a functional phone.

And even if it is not genocide, it is still a criminal act by needlessly exposing members of the public at risk, in a way which is totally avoidable.
Negligent homicide is very different than genocide.

or the person who put the initial culture in the barrel did not put the bio hazard labels on the barrel of growth media.
Killing millions of people due to a virus release is not genocide as it it not targeted at a specific ethnic or national group.
What were they doing with a ANY number of liters of polio near the water?
If you read the summary you would see the following;
The liquid was conducted directly to a water-treatment plant
Coupled with the reference to "human error" error it appears that someone poured the wrong barrel down the drain.

A land line. I guess I could have said "a functional smart phone" but that would be pedantic.
Do you have a reference for this list? Sorry but posting without a reference opens the possibility that what you think is on the list might not be.
