Self powered radios are a reality, but there are not sold because frankly they suck. All you need is an antenna, coil capicator, product detector (germanium diode, or razor blade) hook it up to a set of crystal earphones and you can listen to the radio. just do a search on google for "fox hole radio". It is what soldiers in WW2 used.
This information can already be bought from telephone companies by anyone. The NSA asked for and recieved the information. They didn't demand it from the companies or force them to hand it over. QWest even refused to do so without a warrant and the others could have done the same.
This is a story more about companies handing out personal information then what the NSA is up to.
This was not the case in this election. It was the simple fact that ~1300 votes were illegal in one way or another. This is a fact found by the judge. The problem is you do not know in which column those votes went.

These snake are the longest in the world, however the anaconda in known for its girth. BTW you do not want to get bitten by one of these guys, they have sharp nasty little teeth that leaves a distinct U shape of blood on your arm when they let go.
fogcreek has a nice app called CityDesk.
It's very easy to use. You can create a template for her and when she graduates to learning html, she can write her own. The personal edition is free. Windows only.
Our mail server is for a hosting company, it currently does about 10000 emails a day. The server itsekf is a quad PPro 200 with 512 megs of ram. Not only is the load below 1% all the time, our setup is more cpu intensive. Spamassassin is run out of procmail so it can be turned off for people who don't want it.
As the owner of the code (did you take patches?) you are free to re-license your software as you see fit. Including issueing multiple licenses. Whoever uses your software can only use it under the license you give them.
Just look at the the MSSQL ruling posted to slashdot not to long ago. MS left some of their customers out to dry to pay royalty fees to a third party because MS's license didn't allow customers to use it.
The technology has been around for a long time to use bio-remediation techniques for a lot of chemicals. They have been in use too, I worked on a spill once that was using "critters" to clean gasoline from soil. While it was working it turned the soil a nice shade of purple.
i wanted to moderate this one up, however I feel I need to comment on it. You see I'm am on the opposite end of this situation. We recently layed off quite a number of our staff lately and I am left with one other employee in my department. Before the others left, as they were filling me in on where they left off I had asked if I could contact them via email to ask questions. Everyone of them said yes, and I wouldn't have been angry if they said no either. I will note that I have asked questions from email or AIM and gotten answers and nobody was angry about it either.
Here's a big American f#(| you to that last comment. It's people like you that have eroded the rights in this country to the point we actually have to worry about our rights being taken away from us. This country has NEVER garaunteed a citizens safety, but only freedom. The freedom to be our own masters. The freedom to keep ourself safe. If you don't like it and your not an American you can kiss my a$$, if you are an American move to another country and revoke your citizenship. Here is a warning to anyone who will try take my freedoms away. I will gladly pay for freedom with my blood. I will have good company...

As it stated in the foot notes comments, you can change BACK to the default settings with GConf. End of discussion. What they did is do away with the appearance of fragmentation between UI's while leaving the power to switch if you like/know about it, a smart move IMHO.

Suppose Red Hat is doing this for name recognition, or better yet they are doing it for a weak vendor lock in type thing.
Say all the people who download this and use someday switch to linux completely. Who do you think they will go to for their home computers and such. Also, if companies start using this distribution who do you think they will buy support from? IBM, I don't think so.

If you think for one moment that if the US didn't invent the bomb, that another country wouldn't you sir are an idiot.
You need to let your wife now who makes the deadlines in the house. If this was already done you wouldn't have this problem at all.
Once you start making exceptions it is no longer free software.
This sounds a lot like regular document destruction rules.
