Do you guys search out discussions on low user IDs? Cause every time it comes up we get a procession of lower and lower UIDs until someone with -4234 (and name of Blaise_Pascal) comments.
Logical Volume Manager, it is a layer between the filesystem and the disk (device if a raid), and can be used to expand or contract the size of the device (add new disks, etc.)
The big problem is when something fails SILENTLY! That's what the BSOD and the Kernel oopsies are! If the system has corrupt data, it is very very bad, worse than losing data. So if the hardware has a bug, then it will pass corrupt data around, and then things fail.....google around for what happens with bad ram, and learn about HAppy Fun Bugs!
Because now the spammers INSIDE the country have to check their entire database of email addresses to make sure none are in their country. So this would (hopefully) eliminate spam FROM Australia....

Perhaps the best way to answer the MS FUD is to have SCO try to attack Linux, and fail.
Then IBM buys them cheap, as was agreed beforehand.....
And Linux is free from the issue......
As long as the evil bit is not set, I assume......

Apparently it has to be 'a specific set of operations in a specific sequence with specific data.
The operation:
mov eeax, VALUE
The sequence:
1. mov eeax, VALUE
The specific data:
VALUE > 2^32+1

I wonder if someone should have told Linus that back in the early days........
Why bother to reinvent Linux when Minix exists elsewhere commercially?
