See, this is exactly why linux/unix are annoying to setup. There's always some hack that needs to be done since I have a dozen different wireless adapters, video cards, etc, etc.

      In point one serviscope_minor says:

"A new machine is easy to set up. The install takes however long these things do these days. Customizing is a question of copying my .bashrc, .bash_login, .fvwm2rc, .vimrc, .Xdefaults and .Xmodmap files, which takes around a minute."

No it does not take a "minute." I have no idea where those files are, what they do, how to open it, etc in a linux environment.

Personally I would learn to figure that out but the average user will not.

Sony pretty much reached their goal. Purpose of security and encryption is to slow the process down and for Sony's purposes and intents, it's their goal to simply survive this era of consoles. They learned so much of what works and what not that the PS4 will be tougher to crack.

Here's quoting from a source from san:

"I think Sony are laughing their butts off. The CFW that is out is bricking a lot of 3.55 PS3's - the only people who would benefit from this leak are those who already have CFW installed. Newer PS3's have lv0.2 which can't be cracked (the private keys are with Sony and no where else) so can't go to 3.55 to get the CFW.
So we have pirates who have no real change, they just have an update to their CFW, normal users who can't use the CFW and pirates who have now lost their pride and joy, their 3.55 PS3's so will have to get it repaired or spend a fortune on a used fat with 3.55.
Sony will have learnt a lot about security with the PS3 though so the PS4 should be very secure, I'll be very surprised if it's ever hacked unless Sony make a major mistake with the software or hardware that gives an attack vector.'
It's a hack of a hack people. So only those that have already hacked the PS3 can use it."

Also I forgot this one little detail (hopefully last) is that without the SNES, the PS would have *probably* never have existed. Sony and Nintendo developed an add-on to the SNES called SNES-CD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNES-CD.

In fact Sony was going to release a system called the "Play Station" (not the playstation) to be compatible with the SNES-CD. As everyone know, because of the disagreement between Sony and Nintendo, we now have our current consoles we have today.

(Fun fact, Sony created the audio system for the SNES and created some SNES games back in the day!)

I thought that's what the SNES even more impressive that it could use co-processors while keeping the price the same as other games and no add-ons to the actual system. It gave the system a bit more freedom in pushing software and hardware specs around to achieve what the developers had in mind at the time. For example the developers of Star Ocean used the S-DD1 from wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Ocean_(video_game)#Development "S-DD1 chip to to aid in compression of almost all graphics and map data" Even though it was using the 2nd largest cartridge of the time 48 megabits. (There's Metal Slader Glory which I believe is even larger) In fact SNES games were still being develop long after the SNES life has ended in the US and the PS1 and N64 came out until late 2000. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Slader_Glory Here's a pretty solid list of impressive games that were developed SNES during it's life cycle. http://www.racketboy.com/retro/super-nintendo-snes-games-that-pushed-the-limits-graphics-soun

Created real 3-D polygon games using the FX chip (where the FX2 chip 21 MHz, was 7x faster than the actual cpu!). Created some of the most beloved and classic RPGs and series of the time. Star Ocean, Bahamut Lagoon, Tales of Phantasia (all not released in the US unfortunately) and more. Last gen SNES looked more amazing than most first gen PS1 game, sometimes by a wide margin. 1 or 2 Last gen SNES cartridges were as big as N64 cartridges memory wise. Also can't forget DK that uses "ACM" techniques to create those models in the game.
